After eight touchdown loss to UCF, FAMU Twitter tries to lay the real smackdown

Following a 62-point loss to No. 17 Central Florida, someone running the Florida A&M athletics Twitter account decided to put salve on the lopsided defeat by listing accomplishments that occurred decades ago.

Here is the tweet that attempted to rattle UCF.

FAMU National Championships: 13
1 – 1962 Associated Press College Division National Champions
1 – 1978 FCS National Champions
11 – Black College Football National Champions

UCF National Championships: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

— FAMU Athletics (@FAMUAthletics) August 30, 2019

While UCF hasn’t won a national championship at the FBS level, the school did win 25 consecutive games from 2017 to 2018, a New Year’s Six and BCS bowl win within the last five years.

FAMU, on the other hand, has had more head coaches (3) than winning seasons (2) since 2011.

Despite the social media pettiness, the Rattlers do have history on its side, though. They remain the only HBCU football program to win an FCS national championship — something not even UCF can claim.
