Florida A&M has identified its next men’s basketball coach.

According to The Field of 68 reporter Jeff Goodman and confirmed by FAMU, the school is expected to hire St. Thomas University’s (NAIA) Patrick Crarey II as its new basketball coach to replace Robert McCullum, whose contract was not renewed.

Crarey had helped the Bobcats’ basketball program for the past three seasons compile a 61-27 overall record and 31-15 within the Sun Conference. Under his leadership, the program has produced 12 All-Sun Conference performers and three NAIA All-Americans.  He was also named the 2024 Sun Conference Coach of the Year.

Crarey spent the previous 10 seasons as the head coach and Athletic Director at Washington Adventist University, where he recorded a 163-129 overall record. WAU made the NAIA National Tournament in 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19 and 2019-20.
