SWAC regular season champion Alcorn State to play in NIT

Alcorn State’s LeAntwan Luckett has been recognized as the men’s basketball player of the week for the second time this season for his outstanding performance in competition and leading his team to a 68-62 victory over Prairie View A&M on Monday night.

Luckett, a red-shirt junior, averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games over the weekend. He scored a season-high 26 points and went 14-of-18 from the charity stripe in the Braves win over Prairie View A&M. He also had an impressive game as he totaled 17 points and six rebounds vs. Texas Southern this past Saturday.
