Alabama State’s Britney Wright as the women’s basketball player of the week for her impressive performance in competition between January 3-5 and leading the Lady Hornets to a victory over Grambling State.
Wright has been a dominate player on floor. She scored a career high of 28 points in a loss to Jackson State on Monday night to a 90-85 decision, but before that game she had banked 22 points in the 53-30 win over Grambling State University. The sophomore has tallied her fourth double-double of the season, scored a total of 50 points in two games and has been leading the Lady Hornets averaging 14.7 ppg.
