Ultimate HBCU Sports Division II Football Poll- Week 7

ATLANTA – Aaron Williams (Miles) and Nick Vitale (Stillman) were named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Co-Baseball Players of the Week and Dakota Todd (Stillman) was selected as Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.

Co-Baseball Player of the Week
Aaron Williams, 5-11. Sr., 1B/DH, Pleasant Grove, Ala.
Williams had two 3-hit games and three multi-hit games as the Golden Bears went 3-1 over the past week. In a loss against Alabama Huntsville, Williams went 3-for-4. In a 3-game series sweep over Tuskegee, the senior first baseman was 6-for-10 with two doubles, five runs scored and an RBI, including a 3-for-3 day at the plate in the series finale, an 8-5 win over the Golden Tigers. He finished the week batting .642 (9-of-14) along with two doubles, five runs, and a RBI.

Co-Baseball Player of the Week
Nick Vitale, 6-2, Sr., CF, Brick, N.J.
Vitale led Stillman to a 4-0 record last week, including a 6-1 win on the road against the nation’s no. 17 team, West Alabama, and a series sweep against SIAC West rival Kentucky State. Vitale went 7-for-15 at the plate (.467 average), scored seven runs, and drove in two from the leadoff spot. He earned two walks and had no strikeouts. Vitale had eight putouts in centerfield and no errors.

Pitcher of the Week
Dakota Todd, 6-5, Jr., RHP. Edgewater, Fla.
Todd pitched a complete game against Kentucky State giving up no earned runs and just six hits while striking out nine batters and allowing no walks. He also pitched an inning of relief in the Tigers’ win over no. 17 West Alabama giving up no hits and striking out three. He went 1-0 for the week and tossed nine innings. Todd finished with 12 strikeouts.
