Monday was the day for women of NCAA Division I basketball to shine as the organization’s selection committee released its brackets for the 2016 women’s basketball tournament.
Alabama State (19-11), the SWAC regular season co-champion and conference tournament champion, received a No. 15 seed and will head to Austin, Texas to face No. 2 Texas (28-4) Saturday at 8 p.m (CT).
North Carolina A&T (19-11), the MEAC tournament champion and regular season co-champion, received a No. 16 seed and will face No. 1 Notre Dame (31-1) Saturday at 5:30 p.m. (CT) in Purcell Pavilion on the UND campus.
Both games will be televised live on ESPN2 and ESPN3.
