HOUSTON- Texas Southern head coach Darrell Asberry has announced that recently hired offensive coordinator Mark Orlando has resigned effective immediately to accept a similar position at Alabama State.
“Coach Orlando has informed me of his decision to join the Alabama State football coaching staff,” said Asberry. “We wish him well and we’ll begin the process of identifying someone to fill the now vacant position.”
Asberry hopes to name a new offensive coordinator within the upcoming weeks.
“We hope to move quickly in the naming of our next offense coordinator,” said Asberry. “There are several candidates that I have in mind which should expedite the process of bringing in a qualified replacement.”
