Three HBCU football products had their names called in the Canadian Football League draft on Tuesday, including two with NFL camp invitations.

Delaware State running back Michael Chris-Ike, Prairie View A&M wide receiver Jahquan Bloomfield, and Howard offensive tackle Anim Dankwah were among 74 players chosen in the CFL draft.

Chris-Ike, a native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, was selected 14th overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Chris-Ike ran for 752 yards and five touchdowns in parts of five seasons with the Hornets. He also earned an invite to the New York Jets rookie camp.

Bloomfield, a senior from Katy, Texas, was drafted 35th overall by the Ottawa Redblacks. He caught 12 passes for 258 yards, rushed three times for 39 yards, and recorded two touchdowns for the SWAC West champion Panthers in 2023. Bloomfield caught 35 passes for 734 yards, a 21 yards per catch average, and five touchdowns in his Prairie View career.

Dankwah, also an Ontario province native, was chosen 48th overall by the Toronto Argonauts. Dankwah ended his Howard career as a repeat first-team all-MEAC selection on the offensive line. He was a key part of the Bison’s first MEAC title since 1993. Dankwah recently signed an undrafted free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
