Mississippi Valley State Sweeps Weekly Honors

Wade boasted a .368 batting average last week including going 3-for-3 in a win over Samford, as the Devilettes went 3-3 in their opening week of play. For the week, Wade tabulated four runs off of seven hits while driving home three runs. She also recorded a homer and a double for the Devilettes.
PITCHER
Lisa Jansen, Mississippi Valley State; 5-9, SR; Dietzenbach, Germany
Jansen was 2-1 last week for Valley as she only allowed 16 hits in 16 innings on the mound. She struck out 12 and walked two batters for the week and was the winning pitcher in the Devilettes’ 6-4 victory over Samford as well as a 3-2 win over SWAC and in-state rival Jackson State.
