Week 1 of the HBCU marching band season provided us with a glimpse of what we can expect during the 2018 season.
For some bands, it afforded the opportunity to honor the musical legacy of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
For other bands it was merely business as usual; to show up and to show out.
No matter what, however, it was a pretty exciting week.
Here are the top five HBCU halftime shows from Week 1.
