Tennessee State University football coach Rod Reed will open his first campaign as head coach at his alma mater by welcoming the Tigers to campus on Sunday, August 8, 2010 and begin practice on Monday, August 9, 2010.

Reed and his staff are expecting over seventy veterans and newcomers to report in preparation of the 2010 football season. The TSU staff looks to welcome back forty-nine (49) lettermen and fifteen (15) returning starters (8 offense, 7 defense).

The Tigers will begin one-a-day practices on Monday evening August 9. Two-a-day drills will begin on Saturday, August 14th.

Preseason practice will end on Sunday August 30 after which, the Tigers will open their season hosting Alabama A&M in the John Merritt Classic on September 4, 2010 at LP Field .
