Below is a good breakdown of the open coaching positions. A&T has been filled and Fort Valley has open up due to the hiring at A&T.

From an ECSU perspective recruiting in the 252 use to be ECSU's bread and butter along with getting some folks from the tidewater area (757). The problem now of days is that alot of the talent in the 252 and 757 want to go outside of the area to go to the school. The only time that they would look at ECSU is if things does not work out some where else. If you look at Northeastern High School, one of the high schools in Elizabeth City, has been a power house for the past 5 years and barely anyone from Northeastern ends up at ECSU.

Now there's a rumor that majority of the Marshall players are jumping ship as well. Let me find out this coach is bringing his Gucci luggage to Da Sip.

On another note, when the Valley news first broke, I made a post about it on Facebook and his sister left a comment under my post saying that Coach Wade decided to leave because of lack of support from the powers that be. Don't know if that is a true statement or not, but I'm sure it holds some weight. Of course, she quickly deleted it and I didn't care to screenshot it.

He did say that he had a meeting with the president for that reason

He was fired a week later

Considering the things on behind the scenes, I don't doubt it

The 2-21 record didn't help his case despite having almost 60 scholarships both years (something no other Valley coach has had)

All of this stuff sounds like someone other your president is calling the shots. It makes no sense to run off a productive A.D., turn down big donations or let a two year coach go considering the circumstances.

you are correct, things like this are intentional. This is an ongoing thing amongst the HBCU's in Mississippi, just at different times.

Don't make me put on the tin foil hat lol

Never forget that Briggs was hired via a suggestion from Bynum without any search being done. Running off a successful AD and Admissions director supports your theory

The Thundering Herd could lose nearly its entire roster to the transfer portal this year after losing coach Charles Huff 24 hours after winning the Sun Belt championship, according to Jerod Smalley of NBC4 Columbus.

“Basically the entire Marshall football team is entering the portal, which sets up an interesting potential move,” Smalley wrote. “Could all those guys follow Huff to Southern Miss (like Curt Cignetti from JMU to Indiana last year) and immediately have a championship team? That'll be wild to watch.”

Shawn Gibbs

GREENSBORO, N.C. — North Carolina A&T named its new head football coach.

Shawn Gibbs will return to Aggieland. This time, he returns as the 23rd head football coach in NC A&T football program history.

Hmmm, is this a good choice for a program that’s in pursuit of a FCS national crown? I think not….but what do I know after seeing Trump win the popular vote.

Apparently USM pays more

That and Marshall AD didn't offer an extension even AFTER Marshall won C-USA
I just saw a you tube video on the situation at Marshal and it seems like the Marshall AD has a habit of not being able to get a deal done when a coach is on the uptake (in this case trying to have a high buyout for Huff, if he chose to go somewhere else while under the new contract).

WORD ON THE STREET! A young prolific accomplished basketball Coach and Assistant Director from the nations top prep school is interested in possibly leaving South FLORIDA for the role of Mississippi Valley's next athletic director. I wonder if the president of Valley will drop the ball again. Give him an interview at least. His current school for sure has way more money than my Valley alma mater. Standby!

If I'm not mistaken he is making a return trip.

Yeah. He left his alma mater for Michigan ($$$)

Got fired.

Got a 2nd shot at a P5 job in Arizona and failed there as well

Did the assistant for a few years before getting another shot at a D1 job with Jacksonville State. Won C-USA this year so he proved he still got it

We shall see

The dotard president gets to hide behind Ivory being AD as an alum and Ivory gets 2 checks.

If they actually get an interview and get hired, Ivory is toast as HC
