NEW YORK, N.Y. – Amir Hinton of the Shaw University men’s basketball program has signed as an undrafted free agent contract with the New York Knicks Friday.
The news comes less than 24 hours after the 2019 NBA draft held in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Hinton has been headlining the Division II sports world since he debuted as a Shaw Bears during the 2018-19 season. Since his arrival, the 6-foot-5 guard led the nation in scoring (29.4 ppg) while posting 4.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game while shooting .894 from the free throw line.
Hinton joins Kris Wilkes (UCLA) and V.J. King (Louisville) as the Knicks undrafted free agents.
