The Alcorn State Sounds Of Dyn-O-mite Marching Band was voted HBCU Sports Band of the Week for Week 5.
Receiving 77.51 percent (262 votes) of the 338 votes tabulated, the Sounds Of Dyn-O-mite won the band of the week honor for their Oct. 4 performance at the Jackson State Battle of the Band competition in Jackson, Miss.
Grambling finished second in the polling, followed by Miles College, Jackson State and Albany State.
Alcorn State automatically qualifies for the HBCU Sports Band of the Year award to be determined in January.
