Kyle O’Quinn and his Norfolk State teammates were the talk of the college basketball world after becoming just fifth No. 15 seed to beat a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament.
The Spartans soaked up all the new found attention in the form of text messages, Twitter followers, autograph seekers and one of the lead items on SportsCenter hours after their 86-84 win over Missouri.
It was only fitting a day after St. Patrick’s Day that Norfolk State might suffer a hangover.
After NSU jumped out to an early 6-4 lead against Florida, the Gators would take over from there.
The Gators dominated on both ends of the floor en route to a easy 84-50 win to advance to the Sweet Sixteen, and end the Spartans short-lived NCAA tourney run.
So just how much different was Sunday’s game compared to the magic of Friday?
Midway through the first half Norfolk State had missed 17-of-19 shots, attempted one free-throw and were down 29-6.
