The North Carolina A&T women’s basketball team has announced they have extended head coach Tarrell Robinson’s contract through to the 2028-2029 season.
This contract extension makes Robinson the longest-tenured head coach the Aggies women’s basketball team has had since the team transitioned to Division I in 1982.
Robinson, a former standout player for the North Carolina A&T men’s basketball team from 1997-2001, has been the Aggies head women’s basketball coach since 2011.
Congratulations to the leader of our program on his new contract extension through 2029! Hard work and sacrifice truly pays off. #AggieWBB💙💛 #Commit2Grit #LevelUp #WeAboveMe #BeUncommon pic.twitter.com/192JusloA1

In his 13-year tenure with the Lady Aggies, he holds a 244-147 career record, only finishing with a losing record in three seasons.
In addition, Robinson has led the team to three NCAA tournament appearances, the most recent coming in their final season in the MEAC in 2021.
This past season, he led the Lady Aggies to a 22-12 overall record including a 13-5 record against CAA teams. As a result, Robinson passed Patricia Cage-Bibbs for the highest win percentage of any Aggies women’s basketball coach.
