Alabama State Sweeps Weekly Honors
WOMEN’S
Clarissa Johnson, Alabama State; 5-9, SR; Columbus, GA
Johnson had a great showing for the Lady Hornets last weekend at the MTSU Valentine Invitational in Murfreesboro, TN. Individually, Johnson captured the High Jump title with a leap of 5’05” and finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles event with a time of 8.68.
She was also a member of the Lady Hornets’ 4×400-meter relay team that took first place with a 3:57.50 time.
MEN’S
Jonathan Franklin, Alabama State; 6-1, JR; Lawrenceville, GA
At the MTSU Invitational last week, Franklin took home the 400-meter dash title with a 48.60 time and also finished tied for sixth in the 200-meter dash with a 22.42 mark. Additionally, Franklin was a member of ASU’s 4×400-meter relay squad who finished in 3:14.38 for first place
