Crimiel, Berry and Bradley lead 2007 SWAC All-Conference Women’s Soccer Team

swac.gifJackson State’s Naira Crimiel was crowned the 2006 Southwestern Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year. Her teammate Britney Berry was selected as Defensive Player of the Year and Divinity Bradley of Southern University was named Freshman of the Year.


Crimiel, a 5’3 freshman forward from McComb, Miss., ranks 1st in the SWAC in points (43) and ranks 1st in the SWAC and 3rd in the nations in points per game (2.69). She also leads the conference in goals (18) and 1st in the SWAC, 2nd in the NCAA in goals per game (1.12). Crimiel has assisted the Lady Tigers in compiling a 9-4-3 overall record and a conference record of 3-0-1 the lead the Eastern Division. The Lady Tigers also are ranked 1st in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 3.69 goals per game. Crimiel was selected as SWAC Offensive Player of the Week four times in the 2007 season

Berry, the senior goalkeeper/forward from Terry, Miss., leads the SWAC in goals against average (1.14 pg) and save percentage (.835). She also averages 5.92 saves per game, which ranks seventh in the conference. She was selected as SWAC Goalie of the Week three times.

The last selection in the top honors category is SU’s Bradley, who ranks 1st in the SWAC in saves (159) and second in saves per game (9.94) The freshman goalkeeper from Fairfield, Calif. was named SWAC Goalie of the Week five times.

Jackson State leads with five players receiving all-conference honors with two on the first team and three on the second team. Mississippi Valley State and Southern University both have four players and Grambling State and Alabama A&M both placed three players on both teams. Prairie View A&M rounds out the group with one player receiving all-conference honors.
