ummm , you posted the foolishness about people not liking PV. Heck, PV is an easy win. Who would dislike you for being that???

as for
this fiasco is getting us ridiculed on EVERY local station in a LOT of cities, as well as laughed at on CNN and other national news outlets.
The gall of somebody from PV to post something like that.

and to think you mention something about an "asinine" statement

damn!

You got that right. Monday night Tim Brandt, and the other newscasters on WJLA 7 (DC's ABC affiliate) were literally laughing at this after the clip was shown.

NICE

I won't even dignify any more of your foolishness kid.

Obviously, you don't have the wherewithal to engage in a mature discussion, where people may have opininons that differ from yours.

carry on.......

Finally,

Someone with enough common sense to wade through the mountain of BS in this thread and see the issue. This gunshot fiasco is getting us ridiculed on EVERY local station in a LOT of cities, as well as laughed at on CNN and other national news outlets. What PV has to do with that, other than the fact that they were playing in the game, is beyond me.

The gunshot isn't getting the SWAC any more ridicule than the "free for all" between two schools' bands in this conference about seven years ago. Don't even try it! :(

Any fool that has seen this reported on CNN (and trust me, it aint' like folks have been sitting by the tube waiting for the story to be reported) knows that the gunshot is more of a reflection of the folks in the community than the schools in this league. Hell, the shots came from outside the ballpark, not the two teams playing the game on the field. And I have yet to see ANYONE laughing during the reporting of this story on CNN. If I blinked my eyes, I've missed the story altogether. And if indeed Tim Brando and others are laughing at the potential for young men to be shot while playing baseball, they are stupid arseholes whose opinions I couldn't give a hoot in hell about anyway! Somehow, I doubt they are, but since some of you say they are, it must be true.

Some of you will create anything to prove a point!

This is truly _ _ d!

You never touched the issues in the first place. All your banter has been PV this, Houston that. Where is the maturity in that?

They hosted this years AHSAA baseball championships just last week and they're getting ready to host the NCAA Division II baseball tournament all week long. Hotel accomodations are very convenient with the Embassy Suites being next door along with several other hotels that are within a short driving distance from the stadium.

Are you saying that the Alabama H.S. play their championship games in a better venue than our COLLEGE conference. THAT'S JACKED UP!!!!!!!!!!!

True enough the gunshots came from outside the park, but regardless, this incident is associated with the SWAC, just as the black eye that was the SU/PV fight was. I'm not gonna sit here and deny that. When I get phone calls from across the country asking me WTF is going on in the SWAC, it tells me that it's NOT as small an issue as some of you are trying to make it. I don't have to CREATE anything. Everything is right there in front of you. You just CHOOSE to skate around the issues.

It's no more associated with the SWAC than if there was to be a shooting near the Hoover Met during the SEC baseball tournament. How in hell is it associated with the SWAC unless y'all and SU were having a shootout with .45s on the field?

You're really reaching trying to prove your point, and you should STOP, because you are making it worse on yourself!

BTW, please post a clip of a reporter "laughing" while reporting this story on his/her local news.

AAMU, did you not see that? And that's one I didn't even know about. Did you not watch the WAFB footage?

I want to know how I'm reaching when all most people know about our conference is that we had 2 bands to fight and a shootout that delyed our baseball championship game?

Because the headlines state that a shootout delayed the end of the SWAC baseball tourney.

I don't get WAFB.

Their signal doesn't extend to North Alabama and they're not on my Comcast line-up!

There is a CLIP that was posted here for their website. And you say I am trying to hard to prove a point....:smh: R. Truly I.F.

Bamas....you have all this crap in your backyard and you don't support it...outside of a football game (homecoming) or a big game..the same folks arguing rarely step foot on their campuses....

if we had standing room only crowds and tons of media support, I would retract most of my statements but this tournament didn't get a BLIP by the local media until the shooting was involved.

shows right there what the city of Birmingham thinks about the SWAC...

Houston showed what it thinks when it told the SWAC to gotohell when they were looking for a home after being kicked out of New Orleans.

All this back and forth is really irritating....Bottom line is this....

To me, Alabama isn't necessarily the problem. BUT....When you get to use stuff for free, or little cost, then there should be SOME type of revenue coming out of it? Right? If we have been using free venues for the last few years in B-ham, why are we still broke?

let me answer that in Bama Logic

"it's the SWAC's fault..."

bottom line: your in a state where majority of the residents don't give a squat about the conference and what goes on literally....if they really wanted it, they would've come out in droves now...

Oh, how I wish y'all (PV) had won that dayumed game! I really believe we would have been (temporarily) spared all this diatribe ...until something else for y'all to whine about came along!

:smh: :smh: :smh:

Unfortunately that's correct. I'm sure that the Montgomery Biscuit owners would be more than happy to work with the conference on hosting the SWAC tournament. As far as the AHSAA goes, they didn't have to pay for anything to host the tourney at their place. The ticket sale revenue agreement took care of that.

In other words, you have no answer. Typical.

yep...you get to the tournament you take a step back....until last season, Fair Park Arena was a step backwards....and if coaches get their way, we'll be back

FYI...to any Bamas...why weren't you in attedance since you love the SWAC?

things got so bad they didn't even follw through with the schedule....where was the ultimate tailgate held at?
