NCAA To Impose "Unprecedented" Penalties On Penn State

The NCAA screwed the pooch by not giving Penn State the death penalty. If this doesn't warrant the death penalty, then nothing does.

A legal expert said if the NCAA tried to give a school the death penalty down the road, that institution has the right to sue based on the precedent set by the Penn State ruling.

They didn't give them the death penalty because they didn't want to affect those other schools in the Big Ten who didn't have anything to do with this...plus this is more harsh than the death penalty because this will linger on for years and years....scholarship reductions, fines (well maybe not the fines they can handle that part), stripping of wins and records and the distinctions that come with them, yea this is way worst that the death penalty and it only affect Penn State this way not the other schools in the conference.....(Replacing games and such )

Dude they can't separate issues. They act as if everything is the same. That it's all one big issue. Not a single soul has defended Paterno or Penn State. Not one. Damn shame they can't distinguish that.

83 man whatever, just keep your house in order and it will be ok...stay on the right side of the law and don't drift too far to the left and all is well....so you with this "go along to get along".(I've notice a lot of that on this site)..don't rock the boat...if something or someone wrongs you then just don't say nothing and they'll go away.........yea until the next time.....

If the NCAA did this to Penn State they can do this to anybody....so instead of being scared...the better thing would be to keep your house in order that's all...

Too happy seeing them stick it to the "man" to see the BIG PICTURE of what just happened and the power the NCAA has now. They been looking for something to replace the TRUE death penalty and now they have a sledgehammer thats even worse because they can now interpet incidents that had nothing to do with athletes, on field violations, or team violations as cause for penalties.

Well I see aint no sense in beating this dead horse no longer...for some folk it just takes longer....and then there are folk like you....Never Gonna Get Never Gonna get it!................I tried....I really did...but some folk....well.....

All I know is the NCAA, a couple of folk on here, and yes...even the Powers that be at Penn State University understood the same logic that I am trying to...no tried to (cause sometimes you just have to let go) hit you with...maybe if someone from Penn State were to tell you the same thing I been telling you then you'd respect that....(you're acting like that type)....

and to Robber...the same goes for you...it is sad...when you guys constantly refuse to see the light....that is sad...

The present NCAA head Mark Emmert was not the head. I wondered what would have happened if Emmert would have been the head at the time. Still, it (the Baylor incident) is a very good example. The NCAA can be erratic.

Thanks. I am not defending Penn State. I have not come close. I said that they would be hit hard in the courts.

Our schools should take notice on what the NCAA is willing to do.

This is how Roger Goodell got power....by dumb NFL players who didn't have the sense to say "HELL NO" to giving this man som much power without a third party.

Emmert basically has total power to do anything he wants to toward any school now that this precedent has been set.
Penn State laid down and gave up it's legal right to fight and win this case which was very foolish.
 
Penn State board members weren't even notified by the Penn State President before he agreed to the NCAA sanctions. How did that happen? LOL!!

Whats the point. I have been asking the simple question of what rules did Penn State Football break and all you want to do is run around in circles, declaring yourself the all supreme expert. Just like that Jag guy............You the winner. :smh:

You know some of us have to let them know we are on their side, but if it was a HBCU, these same people would say the NCAA should have done more.

Well, I could give 3 dungs of goose crap about this cause I'm an OSU fan, but what amazes me is how some of you are rubbing your legs together like crickets over this "wins" stuff. When the NCAA just increased their powers by going into uncharted territory. We fuss and gripe about them (NCAA) having too much power. Well, they just got more.
 
Just remember this. If the NCAA will use this new found power on one of their so-called "Bigs", then what about us (HBCUs)? Yeah, we may never have a scandal like this at our schools, but as many of you know that it doesn't take much for them to come after us either.

I think they NCAA took advantage of the Public Opinion Outcry and acted to get their pound of Flesh ($60 Million Fine) for a matter that involved the football coach but not necessarily was something that gave them a competitive advantage on the field. If one of our Coaches got arrested for smoking crack with a player is that the NCAA's place to punish the school and program for that coach's indiscretion? That's a criminal matter and should be addressed by the Legal System...not a college governing body for sports!
