NBA West - Spurs vs Lakers

I do not understand what kind of drama you are looking for on each possesion. Back in the folks thought the heat and knicks series was dramatic anf those teams played exactly like the Spurs. That is what is wrong with the sports fan of today. They rather have style over substance. They rather have flash than hard-nosed play. They rather have a show than execution. I think the best play in all of sports is a successful hit and run more so than a grand slam or dunk. It is so cool to see the development of plays and the sheer execution come into play. The spurs-pistons series might have been boring to you but not me. You knew that both teams were evenly matched and that every possession was a game with in a game. That is the beauty of sports right there.

Hey I watch the WNBA sometimes and they play sound ball too. You know what I surely don't rush home to see this type of game. I can see fundamentally good BBall on any level. The NBA was built on Stars Like Bird and Magic, Jordan,Shaq and Kobe, Hakeen against the admiral. I watch the entire season and watch these type games. When the playoffs come around you look for excitement and intensity. Team ball with two of the teams with zero personality just sucks to me. Just my opinion. I am a true fan of good teams who play sound ball. I just like some entertaiment in my NBA ball. I guess showtime and shaq and Kobe ruined me....:retard:

Come on Panthro, please take it back. Man I need to stop...

I didn't catch it last night as we had problems here. What happened? Who won?

I'm not a "sports" fan anymore so I don't follow closely. I'm a "PV" fan and "SWAC" fan and "Howard" fan and "MEAC" fan. lol In that order. lol

When is the next game? I'll try to catch it. :|

Irregardless of the excuses, the Spurs practically gave away a game. They wasted efforts by Duncan, Parker, even Bowen was hitting from long range. For the Lakers, Odom was 3-12 and Fisher made only 1 of 9 shots.
The Laker defense at one point forced the Spurs to miss 3-23 shots in the second half with their swarming team defense, holding them to only 85 points, thirteen in the fourth.

In a seven game series, no team can afford to give up those kinds of games no matter what.

The bottom line is a young Laker team forced a veteran Spurs team to wilter under pressure.

It don't matter what happen last night. If your boy would have scored 50 it wouldn't put him on Kobe's level.

My great grand mother know your boy ain't on Kobe's level.

Showtime was fundamentally good basketball. Shaq/Kobe were okay but not on the level of Showtime.

Running up and down the floor and making dunks or giving up turnovers simply is not exciting TO ME. Having a team make midrange shots after executing 6-7 passes is a thing of beauty, as is great defense that does not allow a team to do the same thing.

You have to give the Lakers credit for coming out in Game 2 and never really letting the Spurs get settled in during the early stages of the first half. That 9-0 at the end of the second quarter was a dagger for the Spurs and a boost for L.A.

This was probably the best game Los Angeles had played the entire postseason. And this is probably the worst game San Antoino has played this postseason. The only positive thing the Spurs can take away from Game 2 is having the next to games at home.

I know the Spurs look really bad right now, but remember they lost to the first two games to the Hornets by a combined 37 points and then held serve at home before winning Game 7 on the road. Right now, the Lakers look like the best team in the postseason, but we will have to see how they do in Texas. If the Lakers win Game 3, the series is over. But don't expect the Spurs to go down easily.

The Lakers just toyed with the Spurs all night long. The game was never in doubt.

The Lakers played excellent team defense against the Spurs.

#1, that ain't "my boy." lol I LOVE his game and his hustle. I'd WISH, and so do you - you're just too blind to recognize it though lol, we had 1/1,000,000th the talent and desire of Ginobli on our college squads. He's very unselfish, unlike the others (ditto for Duncan and Parker). I love Kobe's game when he's being unselfish and all facets of his game are clicking. But he can seriously become immature and childish/selfish w/ his game @ times and IMO, that's why I'd give the nod to Ginobli (who isn't 100% anymore). :read:

I was taught to recognize good basketball and a good player of it. Wished some of you others were on that same level but that would be asking a miracle of you lol. I forgot I'm talking to people who (themselves) couldn't make 10 out of 60 freethrows yet alone fathom the game of basketball. lol :retard:

Keep :lmao:. Cause that's what I do when I see one of our college teams blown UNDER the gym 100-27....110-19 :lmao:, etc etc :retard: Pretty funny, eh? :lmao:

The Lakers played excellent team defense against the Spurs.

I caught parts of the game and yes, they played tremendous team defense. Had to break away for these bridge deals (TMOb) but was able to see a few plays amidst the talking. The Lakers look like a championship team.

However lol... no bench. :read: Most of those guys riding the pine are a waste of a draft pick/trade. :retard: lol

I get so sick of hearing that the Spurs are tired. Damn it, thats a part of the playoffs. If you want to get rest, end your previous series in 5 or 6 games.

Now we have to hear bout Ginobli's fingernail all game long. Well damn, doesnt Kobe have torn ligaments in his finger? Shouldnt Kobe be laid up in a hospital bed somewhere.

These folks are making more excuses for the Spurs than they did for Lebron.

This is sad. Ginobli has a severe sprained ankle and that's an excuse? lol Great One, you being the baller you are, surely you know how ineffective a bum ankle can make your game. The Spurs looked tired and the Lakers looked like they were on that "acid." lol Knowing the bench warmers, they cetainly look the part. :emlaugh:

I was happy to see Ariza back on the court.

Panthro, whoever taught you to recognize basketball by comparing Ginobli to Kobe, missed the boat. You need to fast forward to the real world today, and stop living off of past Spurs glory.

You say Kobe's selfish, but he's lead the Lakers in assists the last three years, and last year, he averaged more assists than Tony Parker, A TRUE point guard. Kobe did this while passing the ball to starters like Kwame Brown, Luke Walton and Smush Parker.

Ginobli is shooting less than 35 percent in this series. Even Popovich planned to take him out of the game, not because of injuries, but because he was playing like those sorry players you described.

Come on Panthro, you're better than that.

Panthro, the Lakers have the best bench in the NBA, hands down. The more you post, the more your credibility declines.

Is there a high school Lakers' you've been looking @ JayR? Those dudes look like their feet are in stone. lol Their bench.....sux. Even a blind man could see that. :retard:

And no matter how much you defend Kobe, he does get selfish during certain games and fires when he should've passed. Some of us expect that type of great play, it's not a choice.

Lastly, I'm not looking for cyber-credibility. lol I'm seeking to expose truth via my own self-formed opinion. Something certain folx have a severe problem w/.

Self formed opinion?! That explains it in a nutshell.

JayR, respectfully, I was taught by the greatest coach of all-time IMO. He's in cahoots w/ Dick Vitale (seriously) and knows/speaks w/ Coach "K" and Dean Smith personally. :read: He coached over 660+ victories @ the HS level between NJ and TX. Found out recently (8yrs ago) he scored 72 pts and 82 pts respectfully in college games while playing for Army. :read: I'd honestly say his credentials are beyond me, you, and everyone else posting throughout the SWAC combined, eh? :emlaugh:

Some of us are on a higher level of recognition. Some of you are on a lower level. Marinate. :gift:

Theorem I: I can't speak Roman w/ someone who doesn't know or understand Roman. Corollary: Therefore, I can't speak basketball w/ someone who neither plays(ed) or understands basketball. lol :swink:

You can continue because I'm mute on the subject. lol :swink:

For those who didn't see the game last night, a replay of the game is now being shown (11am-1:30pm) on the NBA TV network.
