MEAC to Retain NCAA FCS Automatic Qualifying Bid

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's Council of Chief Executive Officers (CCEOs) reaffirmed its position to compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) postseason championships and retain the conference's automatic qualification for the MEAC football champion. The presidents and chancellors expressed their views that the caliber of talent among the student-athletes and coaches in the MEAC football program were among the best in the NCAA football championship subdivision and, therefore, would allow them to compete with anybody in the nation.

The Council stated that the MEAC football champion will not compete in any post season football bowl game and can and will continue to compete at the FCS highest level.

Stevie Wonder saw this coming. I say force Gram/SU/Ala.St. To move their games so the SWAC champ could compete in the playoffs. I don't care how long they been playing those games. We got to look out for the best of the entire conference. Hell, it isn’t like NBC is paying Gram & SU to play in the Bayou Classic. They pay NBC.

GSU and SU aren't holding no one up from the playoffs. The SWAC Championship Game is. Sponsors pay NBC for GSU and SU. Get your facts str8. Hell the main people complaining team's haven't been eligible by record for a damn playoff in years.

How many times must we explain that to them? Jackson State and Alcorn State went to the playoffs during the 90's while the Bayou Classic was at its current date.

Those same sponsors should be willing to pay if the game is moved. This is why the conference is so mucked up. Dumb azz leadership and too many schools are looking out for them damn selves. It's pretty damn obvious the Bayou Classic isn’t helping you all that much since SU could barely send their women's basketball team to the NIT.

Dude you are from Alcorn when was the last time your team would have even sniffed a damn playoff? You are irrelevant. smh. The Swac Championship Game" you know the Championship Football Game that pits the SWAC Champ in Football that Alcorn has never even graced, is the culprit. Learn the facts first. Never won a damn SWAC Football Championship but crying about a damn playoff.

Man I know that. If things stay the way it is there is no damn way we could send a team every year. Why in the hell would they give us an automatic bid if we can't guarantee our conference champion would participate?

You know what, I take back everything I said. Keep the Bayou Classic as it is. If SU can't send 15 people to the NIT how in the hell would they be able to send an entire football team to the playoffs. I can see the headlines know......SU Cancels Football Playoff Game Due To Lack of Funds. You guys continue to do your thing.

I guess we'll never know if Alcorn could afford it because y'all never win shat. How about you try to teach your losing azz school how to win then you can worry about the other issues.

Hell LSU didn't accept their WNIT bid so what's your point?

:lol:...I know a SU Jaguar is not smacking Alcorn Football. Do I need to go back to the 2000 season and show why Alcorn is SU's Football Daddy? What has Alcorn done against SU in football some may ask: McNair broke the record against SU, Dr. Johnny killed SU's 2003 Perfect Season, Tony Hobson blew Pete out in Mumford 38-16; Do I need to go further? SU said Lee Robinson wasn't nobody yet Lee made 20+ tackles against SU in one game so please SU, respect your Football Daddy...:lol:

2nd Thing (Now back to the Topic)- If the SWAC goes back to the old format of eliminating the SWAC East and SWAC West and just have everybody play everybody and a Champion be determined from the season-ending record, some schools will cry foul if it ends up being a tie in the end in record and in points and we have to use a coin flip. Well, we want playoffs. If a coin flip must determine a champion than so be it.

I tell you what, if they can do away with the SWAC Championship then I think it could happen because they could easily have it during that time period or they could have it sooner, all this is if it is permitted, and it could leave enough time for the playoffs.

Word around my way is that the Grambling Tiger Country is somewhat divided over the hiring of Doug Williams. We already know he loves 26 counter...:lmao:
 
Hey, I didn't know FAMU had an 8-3 young team last year compared to SU's 2-9 Team.

The reason I didn't pay much attention the MEAC Football Last Year outside of the SWAC-MEAC Challenge is that I would fall asleep before halftime of every MEAC game on ESPNU. I wonder why?

The SCG & those teams are keeping the conference from obtaining an Automatic Qualifying Bid. No one wants to sit around hoping they get an at large bid.
