JSU2000 makes valid posts up there ^^^^^^^^^^^^. IMHO JH is right, a transition is indeed occurring and has occurred in the SWAC. It's a transition AWAY from what it once had: physical talent, caring, <b>GOOD COACHING</b> lol, <b>DIRECTION</b> to make $$$$$ (classics out the ying-yang), <b>POSITIVE EXPOSURE</b>, <b>QUALITY alumni</b> :lol:, <b>SUPPORT</b>, et al. Even if it was only BET before SU/Gram landed that hella' deal w/ nbc, BET @ that time was a major positive trendsetter instead of the c**nery that's displayed today. :read:

The transition to nothingness and "who cares" begun ~20+ yrs ago. :read: If ANY current SWAC team attempted to go against ANY of the FCS's top 15, they'd get embarrassed w/ what's currently offered from top to bottom. The last display of embarrassment I'd witnessed from a SWAC squad was watching the Steve McNair hype-machine @ work. Alcorn was blowing through HBCUs and when they went up against a then mediocre Sam Houston St team, they got blown OUT the water because AlcSU didn't have a defense lol, no offensive line, and no run game. All America got to watch was Steve McNair running and scrambling for his dear life "chunking" the ball downfield on a wing and a prayer of hope one of the braves would catch it. lol How many INTs did he have that game vs TDs? :read: :read: :read: :read: :read: :read: There was and prolly IS great individual talent here or there but overall? No mas.

The SWAC needs a MAJOR overhaul and I'm in favor of it. Diversify this muthafugga' so some REAL diversified and better thinking can enter. :read:

P, you do know Alcorn State beat Sam Houston State the year before? Please tell me you knew that? The year before that they beat us by one point. Yes, they kick our butts that third game which was nationally televise.

Good question. Our Presidents don't have answers. And that is the said part. No vision. No forward thinking. No business sense and ALL of our schools have some kind of Business Schools on campuses.

Yes in fact we just received reaccreditation and we sure weren't against the ropes last year we they went to Grambling with yo sorry irrelevant azz. Crying about a damn Playoff when your school can't even win the damn conference or the SWAC East for that matter. Hy Top azz p!ss aint. Voice your concerns to the Presidents, tell them to end the SCG and then the SWAC can go to the playoffs. Well PV, TXSU and JSU could go due to GSU playing in the BC because more than likely they will have winning records, the other schools in the conference will be losing like they usually do and won't sniff the playoffs for decades. Like i said you are from Alcorn, weren't they about to close down that crap? That's how irrelevant yall are. Back to topic.:read:

That should've been televised nationally so folk wouldn't perceive what they saw on tv: SHSUers doing that *clap!* *clap!* *clap-clap-clap!* "OOOOOOOVERAAAAAATED!!!!" bull. lol How many INTs vs TDs did Mac throw that day? I know he tossed a few and Alcorn made a then mediocre SHSU squad look like world beaters. And, I recall SHSU's RB runnin' wild like he was running through the jungles of Africa. :smh: Between those events and listening to a younger cuzin give me the biz (played defense for SHSU as a DE) about how sorry the SWAC was... :smh:

What's the positive of adding more Universities to the SWAC? I cannot see any other than for football - we'll still have to play in $$ games for football and basketball. It's will be an added expenditure for the non $$ sports while certain schools maybe able to bring in additional revenue from football depending where we expand too. We need to clean up some loose ends and it begins with the tourny championships before bringing other folks into the fold.
