Schools claim national titles all the time. Oklahoma State claimed one from 1945 two years ago that was recognized by some non-descript committee. They received a trophy and have 1945 national Champions emblazoned on a wall inside the stadium.

I'm talking about in this day and age. Numerous of schools back then claim titles because they were all undefeated. They are banned which is why they aren't playing for one.

OSU claimed its football championship from the 1945 season in 2017. They waited 70 something years to claim theirs.

There are plenty of schools that need to kick their butts.
It’s not...all he did was refer to the MEAC title because stakeholders from other places complained about it AFTER the event.
