Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Fisher, who said he was not hired by LSU and routinely represents college students for free, met with the players for the first time Sunday morning and the meetings continued most of the day.

I think that is the loophole. He represents more than just college ATHLETES for free. He represents regular students for free also. Believe me, Fisher was chosen for a reason. He also represented Perrilloux more than once.

BATON ROUGE- News 2 obtained a photo of one of the victims in Friday's bar fight where four LSU football players are implicated in the beating.

Multiple sources have identified the man in the picture as Andrew Lowery. Michael Bienvenu confirmed to News 2, he is representing the victim in the picture.

He claims there is enough evidence to charge the players with second degree battery. In order to do that, certain criteria must be met. That criteria includes, broken bones and or loss of consciousness. Bienvenu told News 2, he believes he has a strong case.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

But would it be ok if they played on the bluff??

There would be no controversy, because the players would have been arrested and on their way to court, and not given several days to get their stories straight for the cops.

Exactly. I hate when folks on here always say that if the players played for their school, arguments would be different. That is nothing but bs.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

They would get in trouble anyway. But just because you play in Tiger Stadium, the Big House, Bryant Denny, the Swamp, or Autzen should not mean you get a free pass. I don't care where they play. If you do things like that then you need to be penalized.

But one school (SWAC) had a player who robbed a bank and everyone said he should be penalized (which was going to be him getting kicked off the team) but people from that school said something about he deserve a 2nd chance. But oh well, to each its own. Let them continue to beat up people and not get punished for it. :smh:

Well, Florida has kicked several players of the their team for arrests like this(Janoris Jenkins), or they received lengthy suspensions(Chris Rainey). Gainesville police actually arrest the Florida players, that is why you see their arrest record being so high. 2 Florida players had a fight at party and were instantly arrested by police. These players have yet to even talk to police nearly 5 days after the incident. I thought police are supposed to jump on the story when it is fresh in the minds of all involved. You give them almost a week to get all of their stories together.

Well, I'm glad Florida did, but someone on here think that fighting and beating someone severely is ok, and they shouldn't be penalized for it because they play at an SEC school. I guess they are going to come on here and say that Florida is wrong for kicking the trouble makers off the team.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

And I am going to keep harping on why the police chose to give the LSU players nearly a week to get their stories straight. We are never going to know the truth now.

They are going to ignore the fact that this man has a messed up face. If his bones are not broke or anything of that kind, they won't have a case. They will walk free. :smh:

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Wow, after seeing these interviews of players on WAFB, I now understand why they are taking so long to get their stories together. They couldn't even get the stories straight about who was taking First-team snaps and supposed extra running they were doing for breaking curfew.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

They did it. To many people saw it. Funny how all the security cameras didnt catch the incident lol. Someone is going to pay the kids off and they wont press charges. All of the other students have lawyers.

The U S Marine Corps may not let that slide fellow Jag. They can't be paid off. It will be interesting if Naval Jag gets involved with that. You can't beat up a service man and just walk away. It can have different consequences than beating up a civilian if you know what I mean.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Zach Mettenberger on line 1

Yep. Most of them white necks at LSU are rooting for him anyway. Jordan Jefferson was going to be on a tight leash this season especially with them being ranked so high pre-season.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Only 2 players will be charged Jefferson and Jarvis Landry this should be out shortly. With felony charges I should say.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Bar fight victims had fractured vertabrae and contusions but no one has been charged lol.

LSU Mafia at work.

The players left the meeting at the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit just before noon.

The four players, Jordan Jefferson, Jarvis Landry, Chris Davenport and Josh Johns met with police Monday morning to discuss the fight, police have said.

The meeting took place with the players’ attorney, Nathan Fisher, present.

Following the meeting, Fisher said, “No charges have been promised or given.â€￾

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Did I see where the LSU players decided to deny involvement in the fight?

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

Some of ya'll need to chill remember Sean Wallace, Fred Bailey, and Nemo Bates all were handled the same way as these guys by BRPD.

That is a shame because Jarvis Landry has a lot of promise as a freshman wide receiver. He will have time to turn it around, but this was it for Jefferson. Just have to make good decisions.

Re: BRPD: LSU football players may be involved in bar fight

This is normal behavior for BR.
Certainly no one is surprised....the police probably wanted to give them prize.

Blame BCS if LSU ignores brawl

LSU probably can’t win a national championship unless it beats Oregon in 11 days. Let’s agree on that first.

And regardless of whether quarterback Jordan Jefferson actually kicked a Marine in the head — as several witnesses told a Baton Rouge television station — or had a less-specific role in a bar fight last Thursday that sent four people to the hospital, he has no business representing No. 4 LSU on national television the first week of the season. Let’s also agree on that.

But if Jefferson ends up playing in LSU’s opener, let’s also agree not to mock coach Les Miles or athletic director Joe Alleva for their lack of moral fortitude. Because I’ve got a much bigger culprit in mind: The BCS.

Even in an era of unmatched cynicism about college sports, there’s nothing more cynical than an organization that lavishes college administrators with gifts and corporate junkets while their schools spend millions every year subsidizing bowl games instead of profiting from a legitimate playoff.
