AAMU has PLENTY of room…Does the A&M have room to expanded at its' current location given the influx of new students and at the pace of its' current growth rate?
I saw this and I was very proud. We already know, not every school, especially HBCUs are enjoying such prosperity. I'm now 8th months in continual learning at a much smaller, private, and religious HBCU institution. I'm understanding more and more and more what it has taken for the HBCUs that are still standing to survive. My eyes are indeed open like never before.Maybe we do need another campus with ready-made dorms. AAMU admitted over 2,500 new students, taking enrollment over or near 7,000k for the first time.

UAB to add new $4.7 million dental clinic in Decatur
A new north Alabama dental clinic is officially on its way.www.al.com
I tried to tell y'all to follow the money/paper trail. UAB purposely blocked A&M because they knew we are trying to get a school of Dentistry. This is how this going to play out. University of Huntsville will have a joint program that turned into a full dentist school in less than five years. They did the same thing with UAH latching on to Alabama for an MBA masters program then UAH all of a sudden had one. A&M dropped it's engineering technology department now UNA and UAH has one. Stop letting these white people play with you. White people are strategic in what they do and we fall for it all the time. A&M had the only ROTC program in Huntsville for decades. The talk was always why doesn't UAH have one because all the kids from UAH got commissioned at A&M and took military science classes. Well guess what UAH now has an Air force ROTC program starting this fall. Stop being naive for these people.
White supremacy gonna white supremacy![]()

You really missed the whole point of the convo didn't you. lol Just like Georgia Tech wouldn't let any school in the state of Georgia up until the 2000's have an engineering program in the state of Georgia. Oh I forgot white people don't do that it's all in our minds...... I guess you missed the part where AAMU had to sue the state of Alabama to get an engineering program because the University of Alabama who UAB, UAH falls under didn't want the state black HBCU to have an engineering program because they provided one but those good white people don't do stuff like that..... One thing I've learned in America is when it comes to that white man's skin certain blacks will make sure that white skin is protected at all cost. The largest HBCU in the state who offers way more programs who wants to get a med school which would take away federal dollars that white schools get for minority students wouldn't make a difference though. It's all made up in our minds. This is why Trump is a thing in America. It's not hard to see. I digress though. Yall keep loving that white skin it makes you feel good.I'm just confused as to how it's white supremacy if an HBCU ended up with the campus lol.
That was entirely predictable. I said months ago you all just had to sit back and wait. There just was no way that kind of money was sitting in nor attainable from Fairfield.
Miles could not come up with the money and the deal is off. BSC is on the market again because it has to be sold to pay off its debts. It is another chance for A&M to make a bid
I thought they had it based upon their reported fundraising success. As long as the property remains unsold Miles will have chances to remake it's bid. That was entirely predictable. The question is how much of that fundraising was pledges versus liquid cash? BSC has creditors to pay, I'm willing to bet they are a little less picky about where the money comes from at this point.I thought they had it based upon their reported fundraising success. I feel the same way. Invest it in Normal now and let BSC find someone else.My wishes is that AAMU stays away from that property… AAMU had the CASH to buy the property and BSC anted a broke Miles College to have it…. So let them find somebody else.
We have to be practical about our offer buy the property. BSC has a fiduciary duty to its creditors to maximize the sale value to pay off as much as the debt as possible. I think Miles made a higher bid than us and it made sense to sign the agreement with them.My wishes is that AAMU stays away from that property… AAMU had the CASH to buy the property and BSC anted a broke Miles College to have it…. If their bid goes through
Concordia College property in Selma was purchased by a Korean religious group.I continue to say watch out for Church of the Highlands
Where are you getting your info from…. Miles never made a higher bid…. That hasn’t been stated anywhere…. AAMU’s goal isnt 8k… the school is already at 7400…. So next year im sure it will be over 8k… our goals are much higher. Schools dont deny applications for lack of residential space. We have PLENTY of residential options… not one kid on campus didnt have a housing option… AAMU housing options are better than 99% of HBCUs…We have to be practical about our offer buy the property. BSC has a fiduciary duty to its creditors to maximize the sale value to pay off as much as the debt as possible. I think Miles made a higher bid than us and it made sense to sign the agreement with them.
We also have to view it in a business sense. A&M wants to reach the 8,000 student mark. By buying this property at a discounted price, it allows A&M to reach that number without having to build newer and more expensive buildings in Normal. In addition, given the number of applications denied for lack of academic and residential space, it might gain the capacity to admit 9,000 or more students. Another benefit of having a campus in Birmingham is the ability to collaborate with UAB on professional school programs in medicine and dentistry, and on medical research.
