:devil2:...Who was surprised when the SCG moved to Houston before it hit the newspaper? Who thinks the same can't happen to certain games in the best interest ofthe conference. BUT....I'm Done :devil2:

No one was shocked on this. LOL. That has nothing to do with games being moved. Moving to Houston just ensured all the Presidents a nice SUITE to party in at the SCG. You really are not in touch with your alumni and the going ons within the SWAC are you?

Most of us knew there was a move coming. You need to get involved BH. LOL.

I said...the first year probably wouldn't show because folks would have to get use to breaking tradition.

BTW...Folks said the SCG would never leave Birmingham. Well, its happened.

But like I said....:cool::devil2:.

But money does correct? Why should I as a President of SU or Grambling settle for a 40,000 thanksgiving game when the potential for 60,000 on Labor Day Weekend is there?

BTW JR, do you tweet.

BH, do you know how foolish that sounds. And since the SWAC has committed to the SCG being in Houston the next 3 years. That shows you how COMMITTED they are to not going to them playoffs. You do realize that don't you? You do realize the SWAC Presidents just locked the conference up for 3 more years of not going to the playoffs. SO why in the world would they fugg with the BC or TDC??

It serves no purpose. Duer Sharp has already went public last year in an interview that the Presidents of the SWAC have no interest in the FCS playoffs. So that means HIS bosses have told his dumb arse not to even bring that isht up. LOL.

Our Presidents at both Gram and SU are not interested in moving the game. You can ask them yourself. They think the attendance will be even lower on another date. They are committed to growing the BC on that Thanksgiving weekend. It is well documented on their comments. I can give you SU Chancellor Llorens cell number for you call him if you like. LOL.

Nah man, I am not on twitter.

So if we are not going to playoffs, why should I not maximize the revenue earning potential of SWAC games? A game should remain like it is when there is potential to earn more out of it by making a simple change of date.

Like I said, when will SU be willing to meet us halfway?

Nah man, I am not on twitter.

You do realize TSPN has a twitter account and nearly every post in the Sports Board is posted. Sharp, Brown, etc. could very well be reading this thread...and I want them to . I'm sure the SWAC gets a cut out of each SWAC Sponsored Game.

SMH. Like I said, go tell your President to lead that effort.

Hell, I gave him the blue print to do this. I'm beginning to think old boy is not going to bust a grape. Kind of like those crooked preachers that tell their flock what to do, and well, you know the rest of the story. This whining and slobbering on a message board hasn't been fruitful and those that do so aren't bold enough to do anything else. :emlaugh:

...and let me remind yall. I'm just not talking about moving the Bayou Classic to the 1st game of the year for both teams. I'm talking about Alcorn vs. JSU, Magic City Classic, etc. 0-0 vs. 0-0 is the way to go.

You STILL gonna be the underdog and then when you lose the game in week one, your season is over. At least now, your teams has a chance to get some practices in before you get blown out in Jackson.

Off the subject question but when did making statements on your school or any situation that you dont agree with become WHINING? I mean its obvious that this is a sports discussion board...

And the go to your school president statement or what have you done for your school question is pretty dumb IMO (who are you to deserve that answer (). Some people have alot of clout with their school and alumni association so you never know!

As far as this discussion goes this is a :deadhorse: The majority of SWAC presidents and ADs have no problem with being segregated from the rest of the FCS world.....In terms of football fans we are in the MINORITY some of us dont mind competition and want to be the best in our division of football, the majority of SWAC HBCU fans only care about the party and band aspect of HBCU football..sad but thats HBCU sports for ya....

Man it is what it is. Unless our prominent alums can show our leadership the FINANCIAL benefit of the FCS playoffs, all they are going to do is kick your arse out of their office and tell you we don't have time to lose money. That is the reason why those academic folks who run our schools do not care for the playoffs. They don't see the money the school can make from it.

Folks laugh at TP, but he has been right about the best thing for us would have been a move to FBS level. Not to do it willy nilly. But that is the only way I think we could appease our fans if we were on the big boy level. But obviously we do not have the infrastructure to do it now. We should have been studying that move years ago like the Boise States and Marshalls did. Then we could have grown our programs while we had a lot of support then from the old head alums who were more diehard than we are now. Folks are ambivalent now.

What does that have to do with it? I can call my Chancellor or AD to talk to them myself if I need any info concerning SU and what our stance is. I have no reason to talk to Duer and could care less if he reads the board. He told Kenn basically that he works for the Council of Presidents and he don't have any power. LOL.

I was that dude who booked the room. Used pops alumni discount. Sheraton on Canal. 75.00 a nite.

Who is us? SU is doing EXACTLY what the Council of Presidents want. So is Gram. There is no meeting US halfway. Alcorn's President ain't worried about the BC. LOL.

This could be BH's final blue print.

And BH, make sure your protest sign reads, "SOUTHERN SHOULD MEET US HALFWAY". Jayrob could hold up the other end of your sign. That should definitely get someone's attention.

Never. lol

Maybe because the potential for 60,000 is there for Thanksgiving weekend? You know, the week where a lot of out-of-town SU and GSU alums travel to come home and visit family members and attend the game? So do a lot of non-SU and GSU folks. Students also can go HAM on Bourbon since it would be the last their last hoorah for the semester. They can spend the last of their refund checks on that week. lol

A shame because in this thread, I hardly even mentioned playoffs...

I'm talking about IMPROVING THE IN-STATE RIVALRY GAMES THEMSELVES. By the the way yall talking, 40, 000 show to every SWAC Regular Season game (a damn lie )

This is Jaguar Nation of Today, NOT of late 1990s. Do 40, 000 come out vs. Valley, vs. PV, vs. AAMU, vs. Alabama State, etc.

What I'm proposing is to somewhat (notice I said somewhat) somewhat help make up for the low attended SWAC Regular Season games by maximizing the revenue earning potential of the in-state rivalry game.

After all those years of the SWAC HEADS and the Majority of the "HBCU ONLY GAMES" fans got what they wanted, NO PLAYOFFS, ya'll talk about this mess more now than ever.

THE SWAC AIN'T GETTING INVITED AGAIN.
MOVE ON!!!

:goof:

This is 2013. Folks ain't got that Bill Clinton money .
