This is the first time in several years that TSU has not has one of the toughest occ schedule in the SWAC if not 1aa football.
Are you kidding me?!?!? :lmao:
Let's look back at 2002-2007. The SWAC must be scheduling awful "OCC" schedules as you put it if Texas Southern had "one of the toughest" in the SWAC, "if not 1aa football".
Even 3rd Coast Tiger would acknowledge that Texas Southern's schedule -- atleast I'd hope -- does not meet the high regard which you gave it. These schedules are cupcake-laden! One of the toughest schedules in 1AA football, ha!
2002 - Howard, Southwest Texas, Stillman, Clark Atlanta
Two sub-Div I opponents. Southwest Texas? And well, when was the last time Howard did something successful on the football field?
2003 - Howard, Nicholls State
Does this even merit an argument? Nicholls won 64-5 over the Tigers. Ouch!
2004 - Northwestern State, Nicholls State, Morgan State
Morgan State...when have they been good? Nicholls State has the option and is tough. Northwestern State was co-SLC champions. This was still not a strong OOC slate.
2005 - McNeese State, UTEP
McNeese was down in 2005. They were not even amongst top two teams in the SLC in a very down year for the conference. UTEP was 8-4, but I am sure there were tougher schedules.
2006 - New Mexico State, Texas St-San Marcos
New Mexico State is scrapping just to be FBS while the Bobcats were a year removed and back in the dumpsa after cheating their way to the SLC title.
2007 - UTEP, Houston
UTEP was 4-8, their worst mark under Mike Price to date. Houston was solid, but Kevin Kolb was not at QB for the Cougars.
