HBCU Basketball Scores

I attended this game....AAMU has a solid team and a solid coach. Would not be surprised if they cut the nets at the end of the tourney.
It wouldn't surprise me if they make it but the road will be tough with a scrappy Alcorn and possible matchup with Texas Southern IMO...1 game at a time Go Bulldogs

lets say you have a team that's 30-3 and runs through the SWAC but the NET rating is on the bubble but a possible 13 seed or even 12 if they win the tourney - you want to have them in position to reward their regular season - especially with the NIT out there's no real incentive to the regular season in a one bid league - its tourney or bust unfortunately

you have 12 teams in 2026 in the tourney - make the bottom feeders earn their way to the semis like the Sun Belt league

So. How do you protect them other than crowning them champion with out winning the tournament?

The swac tournament Central website hasn't been updated since it was put in a week ago. You have to go other places just to see who won the games. There is not even an update on the schedule.

A 30-3 SWAC team should run through the tournament…

Either scrap the tourney or put in a format where they play less games to avoid early knockouts - look at the sunbelt bracket -
Are you thinking about NCAA tourney money and how much the conference depends on it? If so, I get your point. Basketball is a game where you can just have an off night.

I wouldn't go as far as to say scrap the tourney because of the bracket format though.

There wasn't much separation on the men's side in conference play. It's not like those coach Reed teams that use to blow everybody out and go undefeated in conference. The tourney was wide open from the beginning. It's the same with the women's side.

Should but it only takes one bad night - Valley went 16-2 in 2004 and was bounced in the first round - that team was legit
So, how do you protect them? I want to know. Maybe the conference should do as the commish has suggested and not play so many money games and schedule non-conference games that give us a chance to win and have a better record conference wide.

IMHO, is spite of the records, you have about 6-7 teams that can beat any team on any given night on the men side. Does it look bad for the conference to send a team to the NCAA tournament with a losing record? Yes, but it’s a moot point because we’re a one bid conference currently. Everyone knew what it is going into the tournament. You win or go home…..That’s on the conference if they want a different outcome. Judging on next year’s field the powers aren’t interested in anything different.
