HBCU Basketball Scores

May be over for Hughley at AAMU…. Underperforming year… has been given everything he has asked for… playing in one of the best arenas in HBCU sports… and still finishing in the bottom 4. He has more than any AAMU men’s basketball coach has ever had. Plus the women average more fans than the men do…. Not a good look for him.

New matches required. We cannot experience success w/ this same failing formula.

Goff, you're on deck again to hire proven and qualified WBBALL and MBBALL coaches.

Looking at Smith's last 4 rosters I see a trend.
Sure are a lot of graduate students on the team. Where are the Freshmen? Where are the recruits?
What happen to Patrick McNeal?
Look at Assistant coaches-aside from one-the rest have all left.
Same with Valley-where are the recruits?

Why are these teams going after community college and guys who were in court rooms before they got to the SWAC?

You can not be stable if you are having to replace your roster because you got used up player from other mainly PWI schools. Who are at the end of their college playing days.

My posts from the past couple of months should tell you about the state of Valley athletics. When you have a doofus president who ran off a good AD to replace him with Ivory who isn't good at his main job, you end up where we are now. He can control Ivory.

Just since July, we've lost 3 coaches due to firings or resignations and possibly could have a 4th if Anderson is really fired

Briggs is intentionally running athletics into the ground for the band

the best freshman from that group a few years back led the swac in rebounding and ended up at nicholls state - the others didn't pan out for other reasons away from basketball - he had a big time freshman who changed shirts at the last minute and went to Texas A&M and has only played in 6 games 🤦‍♂️ but they paid him to sit down and that's the issue we have now as you can't wait on them but only he can tell you why it ain't working

You have to be able to integrate freshmen in and play them without turning your team over to them on today's game or you'll have none as you can't build anymore with them

Any decent freshman in the SWAC is going to the portal the next year…. IMO last season Chad Moodie at AAMU was the best big man in the league… Hughley knew that…. And really limited his minutes… because he KNEW if he played him how he shoulda have he would have been gone. I guess it worked… Moodie got Freshman of the year… and luckily he stayed another year… If he would have been played like he was SUPPOSE to be played his freshman season… he would have been gone…. And he will probably leave after this season… but hey at least he got 2 years out of him instead of one.

both have multiple titles so doubt they weren't proven and qualified
nfl guys who are superbowl champions are also proven and qualified BUT, they may not have the "IT" factor for recruiting talent and coaching talent.

"IT" encompasses intelligence and wisdom, which I strain my eyes like crazy to locate these days. We need "IT" in MBBALL and WBBALL leadership positions. Nothing personal, strictly business.

Smith's formula appears to be working flawlessly as the team has churned out the last 4 SWAC MBBALL championships. lol

PV's formula is beyond ignorant and low-vibrational.

As if there was any doubt but we are officially eliminated from making the SWAC tournament

Looking forward to this weekend’s games in the sunshine state. When we get on the plane Friday we need to have a March Madness do or die mentality.

I am excited about the next two series but particularly the Florida swing. So many of these games have been big time competitive.
