Article in the clarion ledger today say JSU biggest problem is we can't build dorms fast enough to keep up with enrollment. Just bought a big apartment complex beside JSU and it is still not enough beds to go around. Built two dorms on campus already and expanded one dorm to twice the size plus the purchase of the tiger plaza down at the fairgrounds.
Building another 800 bed complex and another cafeteria but JSU In money trouble because nobody is spazing out over MTSU travel money not being included in the season budget. Lmbao

Well we hope BBVA's turf field will be able to hold up and not get any players injured from either team. There is a concert on 9/3 (Ed Sheeran), a soccer game on 9/4 (Argentina vs Bolivia) and then the LDC on 9/5.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman Herb Frierson summoned agency heads to the Capitol for a brief meeting Tuesday, and told them to put pencil to how they would cut their budgets by 7.8 percent or raise fees to cover cuts in the coming year. Frierson said that if ballot Initiative 42 passes in November, forcing lawmakers to fully fund the Mississippi Adequate Education Program, he wants to have a plan to cut other agencies to come up with about $250 million it would require.
Some of that fine jsu $$$ may be about to get diverted to early education.

And just what do this have to do with projects already being built or approved.
Sorry but this is not a gotcha moment. This is known by everybody. They been cutting college and state agency budgets for the last 10 plus years. We already had this discussion about how some schools in this conference didnt prepare for shrinking budgets from their state and others did.
JSU been building and expanding under this problem since the early 2000's while everybody else was focused on JSU "renting" a hand me down stadium from Massa that was not on campus. lol
No rent, no upkeep, keep the ticket, parking, and concession sales from Memorial sound real good in these days of slashed budgets. More students enrolling at the other campuses JSU has opened equal more tuition $$$$$$ comming in.
This dont include the other nice JSU streams of revenue brought in by APPLE STORE, BankPlus, C-Spire, and the burger king, subway, starbucks, and Chic Filet franchises located on campus. Throw in the advertising dollars being brought in at WJSU-TV and we got a real good base to stand on with these cuts.

Just hard to believe that of all the STATE run things in MS, JSU is the one thing that is good financially. The schools, hospitals, streets, bridges, and all the other stuff is fugged up but jsu is good and fully insulated from the financial woes of the state. I hope it's true that would be a big plus for the people of color in MS.
