Meet The School With The Worst Non-Conference Schedule In Black College Football

Harsh article. But they need the Ws to drum up more local interest in sTu football. sTu came in 2nd place in the SWAC Commissioner's Cup standings. This is a great time to build off that momentum and build a larger fan base. Good luck w/ your direction, sTu, and looking forward to Sept 5th.

Commissioner Sharp should banned all SWAC football teams from scheduling these NAIA schools. With the new seven game conference schedule beginning in 2017 AD's should get on the ball scheduling a good quality opponents for fans to see.

This won't and shouldn't happen. Schools should have their right to schedule who they want to schedule. While I am not a a fan of playing more than 1 smaller division team per year, schools should decide theirown non conference schedules.

I agree yes that schools should be able to decide their own schedule but I do feel that their should be rules. Even my own school is guilty of it.
No schools under the D2 classification
No more that 1 D2
I feel that Alcorn has a better chance at beating Georgia Tech than those schools have of beating TXSU. Over 50% of their roster wouldn't even be eligible at a SWAC School

Did't TXSU drive down to play Stillman College in Alabama sometime ago during modern history and play them for their HC? I think they did; I'm gonna go and check the final outcome of that game......

Man, if we can be fodder for FBS why can't NAIA schools be fodder for us?
Because a fbs school like georgia will make millions on a tuneup against a fcs school reguardless. We need all the dollars we can get. Your payout to these schools will probably be more than you will get in ticket sales. These nia schools have less talent than a d3 SCHOOL. At least schedule a quality d2 team that will give youa good test.

I been saying this. I was pissed as hell when Concordia and then virginia lynchburg howed up on our schedule last year Nobody went to that game. I stayed at home myself.

Yes we did for the 1st Annual Druid City Classic (opened their new stadium for them). Stillman paid us $50,000 to play them. Referees called 2 or 3 touchdowns back on us. SMH I still have nightmares from that game/road trip, head coach, AD and tailgate. LOL

And someone was about to fight the coach after they lost..lol

Tell the big 10 schools that.
Just common sense. You football brand and image dont improve by playing schools that the top 5 mississippi high schools can beat. Lol

Then you must not be paying attention to the division II or lower football. Didn't we just watch Valley lose to Concordia a few years ago? Tuskegee has had there way with Bama St plenty of times. I could pick plenty of lower division schools that could either win the SWAC or finish in the top 3 on a consistent basis.

I agree that schools should be able to schedule who ever they want to schedule. So what if Texas Southern is taking a cupcake schedule! Are we paying their players for what they are doing on the field? Is Texas Southern worried about thier strength of schedule due to qualifying for the FCS playoffs? Is Texas Southern competing for a FCS National Championship? Do college football teams have pre-season games?

The answer is no. If you don't like TSU's schedule, make sure your schedule beats the snot out of them to make them understand the importance of playing a tougher non conference schedule! Other then that, everyone needs to focus on their business.

Dayum smh

Hope you don't suffer any injuries...these be the games when weird stuff happens

I said this on Facebook. I would feel some type of way as a TSU fan if players got hurt in a game that the NCAA won't count/recognize.

Last year about this time, I was probably on the fence about this (The big schools schedule cream puff games so why shouldn't we?). Now I think I am on the restrictions side. When PV found out that the Faith game wouldn't count, they went and scheduled Langston instead.

I think I am now on the side of no more than 1 sub-D2 opponent per year. Imagine when you get 4 OOC games in 2017 that you have a schedule of Bacone, Concordia, Faith.and Texas College (I do think we should play former SWAC members that still have football programs like LU, Texas College, Wiley, etc.). The TX,, LA and Alabama schools could schedule a low level FBS school, FCS opponent(s) and HBCU in state to save money (even JSU and Alcorn could do so with schools in LA) and still have one game for a money game or another FCS opponent

Texas Southern is only hurting themselves. Last year they had their chest poked out about being undefeated then reality stepped in. Playing these easy teams only gives your players false hope,

You shut yo Damn mouth...I hate you Grambling folks....Kenn and his non-sports "writer" Kendrick get on my last nerve!
