Former Virginia Union star and NBA All-Star Ben Wallace will be inducted into the Class of 2021 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
ESPN NBA basketball reporter Marc Spears first reported the news Saturday.
Wallace was a four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, four-time NBA All-Star, and anchor of a Detroit Pistons team that won the 2004 NBA championship.
Prior to crafting an illustrious pro career, Wallace was a first-team Division II All-American at Virginia Union.
After going undrafted in the famed 1996 NBA Draft, Wallace played 16 seasons in the league for the Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Pistons, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.
