Since Maynor is no longer under contract after the season, here's my wish list:
1. Fred McNair (currently an asst at Southern) - He's the most qualified coach on the market. A proven winner and program builder.
2. Sam Shade (HC at Miles College) - Probably one of the top D2 coaches on the rise. Won a nat'l championship at Bama in '92 and had a very good pro career. Doing great things at Miles on the field, recruiting trail, and the portal. A Birmingham, AL legend (he was a member of church so I'm biased).
3. Broderick Fobbs (Currently a position coach at La-Monroe) - Relationships matter and Fobbs worked under AD Bryant at GSU from 2016-18. Two time SWAC champ and 1 nat'l championship speaks for itself. Has not been a head coach for quite a while which could be a concern.
4. Robert Mathis - I have no idea if Mathis wants to coach or not. He loves the university and comes back every year to help train defensive linemen. He'd be our version of Eddie Rob.
5. Ed Reed - AD Bryant loves social media so why not kick the tires on the celebrity coach market. Other than Mathis, this is the only hire that will make the nat'l news.
