BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – Alcorn State junior wide receiver Raidarious Anderson, Alcorn State junior defensive back Javen Morrison, Jackson State senior kicker Christian Jacquemin and Alabama State junior wide receiver Tyrek Allen were all named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Football Players of the Week in week three of the season for their outstanding play.

Raidarious Anderson (JR, WR, Oakland, Tenn.)
Anderson turned in a career game to lead the Braves to a 27-15 victory over Texas Southern. He caught eight passes for a career-high 168 yards including a touchdown. Anderson more than doubled his previous career-high of 80 yards set last season against McNeese State. He accounted for more than half of Alcorn’s passing yards.

Javen Morrison (JR, DB, Corinth, Miss.)
Morrison shined defensively with two interceptions Saturday in a 27-15 victory over Texas Southern. He accumulated 59 yards in interception returns. Morrison now has eight career interceptions as it was his first multi-interception game. Additionally, Morrison was a part of an Alcorn defense that allowed the Tigers to score on one of just three red zone trips.

Christian Jacquemin (SR, K, Miami, Fla.)
Converted 4-for-4 field goals, including the go-ahead 44-yard field goal at 10:22 in the fourth quarter in win at Florida A&M. Three of the four attempts were from 40 yards or longer.
Newcomer
Alabama State
Tyrek Allen (JR, WR, San Antonio, TX)
Allen finished the night with a pair of catches for the Hornets, totaling 86 yards. The junior caught his second touchdown catch of the season, reeling in a 78-yard pass from Darryl Pearson, Jr. and outrunning the defense down the right sideline for a touchdown. The pass was the second 60-plus yard reception resulting in a touchdown for Allen this season.
