Virginia State University recently published a new video that documents the grand opening of the school’s new multi-purose center.

The Multipurpose Center consists of a 165,941 square foot sports and event arena that seats 6,100 for stage events and 5,100 for sporting events. The arena is the size of three football fields and sits on a piece of property the size of six football fields. The Multipurpose Center accommodates men’s and women’s athletic events, commencements, convocations, academic events, concerts, banquets and meeting. The final basketball game of the 2015-2016 season was the first sporting event in the new facility.
