Prairie View could be on the brink of naming the school’s next head coach.
Alcorn State offensive coordinator Willie Simmons has reportedly agreed to accept Prairie View’s offer, according to Football Scoop.
A press conference introducing Simmons will be held Tuesday, the school announced.
Simmons was also one of three finalists for the vacant Florida A&M opening.
At Alcorn State, Simmons ran an offense that led the SWAC in total offense, scoring and points in 2014.
Simmons previously worked as an assistant a Middle Tennessee State and Clemson.
Simmons is replacing Heishma Northern who was fired by Prairie View last month.
