New Orleans, La. (GCAConf.com) – Senior forward Nathaniel Hill of Edward Waters College has been named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 1-7.  This is his first GCAC Player of the Week honor this season.

The 6-6 frontcourt stalwart averaged 22 points and 13 rebounds as the Tigers defeated Florida Memorial and Coastal Georgia. His 23 points and 14 boards against Coastal Georgia were both season-highs.  Hill leads the GCAC in rebounding at 10.5 rebounds per game and ranks eighth nationally in that category.  He is the only player in the conference averaging a double-double with 17 points and 10.5 rebounds.

GCAC leading scorer Will Bailey had 23 points and 7 rebounds in SUNO’s loss to Faulkner…Philander Smith forward Aquill Baynard had 22 points, 13 rebounds, and a pair of blocks to help the Panthers knock off Fisk…Jerrod Brown posted a near triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for Voorhees in a win over Morris College (S.C.)…Talladega guard Brandon Peters posted averages of 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds for the Tornadoes to extend their win streak to five games…Xavier’s Jarvis Thibodeaux had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Gold Rush against No. 9 William Carey…Trevis Thomas had 19 points for Tougaloo against Blue Mountain (Miss.).
