NBA Free agency rumors and trades

lmao Mitch just did the Lakers in. Passed on some quality bigs being confident in FA and look at this ish. smfh

The Cavs were able to keep Love AND Thompson. If they can keep Mozgov, Shumpert and Smith plus sure up that bench, they should be back in the Finals.

Baring an injury to LBJ the Cavs were all but guaranteed to get back to the Finals. They will be in the Finals the next 5 years unless Durant goes to Washington.

Where are all those folks who said the Lakers would be back in short order. No Butler. No Wade. No. LMA. No Love.

I know five years seems like forever when you're accustom to a team dominating you for the last half a century. But the reality of it is, they are going to be even in better shape cap wise next season.

Having said that, Mitch Kupchak need to be fired.

This news came from a writer in LA. Butler has not come out and said anything. He won't be going anywhere

The Chicago Bulls have agreed to a five-year, $90 million maximum contract with free-agent guard Jimmy Butler, sources said.

Butler will have a player option for the fifth year of the deal, but the pact assures he will be in Chicago through the 2019-20 season.

After receiving the max offer Monday, Butler postponed meetings with the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks, sources said.

I have been seeing some crazy salaries for role players. I can only imagine how the superstar contracts will be. Anthony Davis just got a $145 million deal. I am sure KD, Westbrook and company will want to outdo that when it's time for negotiations.

They gon learn to listen. In 2016, this will be his team.

With the Lakers, Knicks and C's spurned in free agency, does market size -- or the allure of playing for the Lakers in L.A., New York for the Knicks -- matter anymore?

Greg Monroe signed with Milwaukee instead of the Knicks.

LaMarcus Aldridge turned down the Lakers and probably will sign with San Antonio. Love re-signed with Cleveland instead seeking out Los Angeles or Boston.

Others like Lillard and Davis decided to re-sign with their current smaller market teams.

We know money matters in these situations, but it seems fit, instead of market size or glamor, does also.

It matters, but not in the way people think. It's more of a tiebreaker than a leading variable. People remember Shaq leaving Penny and Orlando for the Lakers, but no one remembers that the Lakers were already a 50-win team before he got there. It's probably a different discussion if the Lakers had won 20 games the year before. It would be pretty hard to convince a player like Aldridge who's leaving a division winner to join a team that will struggle to make the playoffs even with him. It would be in the Lakers and Knicks' best interest to draft well and build a nucleus. Once the top free agents see you're moving in the right direction, then they'll get more consideration. Boston has never been a free agent destination.

Man these ppl are just overpaying these kids smh lol

I just seen the Pelicans sign Asik smh For what again?

If Kobe just stay his azz out of the way and let the management handle business. Why he keep showing his azz up to the meetings? He doesn't have the most likeable personality to begin with.
