Southern needs to save this game once again.

This was a terrible show, but again it's only the first year. Let's see how things unfold

So you would have been OK with 6-5 (or even a 5-6) Alcorn team representing the SWAC in the CB?

And rootin my butt off for them to beat the meac. I look at the glass as being half full not half empty.

Just think what a statement it would have bee for the swac fourth place team to beat the meac conference champions ? Which I think that Alcorn could have done.

Well, anything is possible...I guess. But why settle for a 4th place team when you can have a 1st place team?

One could argue that the SCG suffered (attendance wise) because it featured a 5-5 SWAC East champion.

Smh. Why would you want to risk that when you can have the 1st place team play and have no excuses after the game since it was one vs one. I dont want to see our 4th seed go just for the chance of an upset. I think the real problems is that you never want to go for GSU.

Southern. Only reason why you guys would bring more fans is for the simple fact that everyone would have know it would be your last game. See at GSU we have eligibility so we had to choose this or the Celebration bowl. You guys would have no choice.

It's called playing by the rules and the hand that your dealt. Life isn't perfect so why do some of us make a big deal out of and imperfect system that has hiccups every now an than?

There were at least 12 teams last year that had a .500 record and played in a bowl game. At least three more that had under .500. NOT One time did we hear anybody from their conference or any where else complain . We're the only group of folks that ride around with the stigma of having to be perfect on our shoulders as a badge of honor.

You and I both know that isn't true . The only way it wouldn't have turned out like this if it had been perfect weather and jsu

What 12 teams are you talking about? I don't care about any other bowl games. There is only 1 FCS bowl game and the rules for FBS teams don't apply to the CB (as it relates to .500 or sub .500 teams)

And I'm not sure I understand that part in bold. What am I suppose to know "that isn't true".

Sam Houston St is playing a playoff game just up I45, I bet they don't get 5K in their place and it's on their campus.
......

Just like I called 25 K for the SCG, I called this one too. Sam only had 4,897 at their playoff game on their campus.

But that 5-5 team brought WAYYYYYY more fans than that 9-1 team brought.

And neither of those fans brought anything close to what they brought last year.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta, the ticket sales (according the John Grant) are almost doubled compared to this same time last year.

Folks were not going to spend money on a game that was perceived to feature a powerhouse vs. a 5-5 team.

But the SWAC West Champ fans got so cocky about a certain SCG win and stayed home and it almost cost them with no fan support. Now Gram fans better pack out the Georgia Dome and not embarrass the SWAC being a no show and let NCCU fans outnumber you. Just saying.
