Will Alcorn defeat Southern Miss?





I think it is very possible. They were a 15 point favorite before the year started. I think our defense can hold up but I think our offense will be the question mark.
 
No. But I'm really pulling for them. Penalty free is the key. A win-less FBS squad can still beat us easily by 25. No mistakes and anything can happen. But, they will set the field on fire if they lose to a swac team. Good luck lorman!

Good luck with that. You know any signs of Alcorn being able to hang with Southern Miss, they will throw some BS holding or p.i. call to bail them out.

Yeap. I think Alcorn can beat Southern Miss. Your offense just has to go out there and execute. We all know it is all about the battle at the line. Control that, and you will definitely be in position to win.
 
At a netural site I would say maybe, it will be tough in Hattisburg. Is this Hopson's audition? Some might say it is. If he coaches like it is and tries to show too much that could be a problem.

this is his audition...My heart says yes but my mind says no...yea USM suck but the suck on a FBS level not on a FCS level...too much depth is the reason why I think Alcorn will lose...

I think BCU has proven an HBCU can beat an FBS program (two years in a row). Plus MSU almost beat EMU (MAC) yesterday.

If there is a time for Alcorn to strike, NOW is the time to do it. Year 3 of the Hopson system with a ranked (FCS) Braves team against arguably the worst FBS team over the past 2 seasons.

Like you said, keeping down the mistakes is the way they are going to do it. The worst FBS team can still whoop most decent FCS teams not named NDSU or Eastern Washington :lol:

Alcorn has a good chance at taking down USM. Hopson understands that a win at USM will look great on his FBS resume. USM folks are watching him.
 



Its very possible, They have to hone in and focus at practice this week, they didnt show anything against Vul so hopefully that can be of some good use...
All and All like I said before they'll need to gain the momentum from the jump and get a few lucky bounces...
 
We beat USM, we DAMN SURE BETTER WIN SWAC!!!

Because if we don't win SWAC, beating USM would have been for nothing and there will be hell to pay.

Even if Alcorn doesn't win the SWAC, beating USM is a historic win. When was the last time a Mississippi FCS school beat a FBS school? This is a major game for Alcorn.
 
i would say, Alcorn will lose if they play one half. just don't be stupid. USM's depth and stupid penalties will kill you quickly. those guys are butt hurt from that MSU whippin and they will see yall as an easy W.

if a MS FCS is going to take down a MS FBS, USM is a easy target right now. not sure how many more years that window will stay open. HA, if yall beat them, they are not going to pick-up the phone if JSU comes calling for their head. lol

And that victory will be quickly forgotten once a SWAC Champion is crowned on December 6th, 2014. I'm just telling it how it is.
