Why the Celebration Bowl is hoping Grambling wins Bayou Classic, SWAC Championship

Hummmmm....... I guess the Coaches were wrong for picking Alcorn as a Pre-Season favorite to represent the East in the SCG which I personally thought was a reach with the total number of letterman (25) lost and a new coaching staff especially on the Defensive side of the ball.

Feelings about this worst case scenario? Again, was JSU and SU banned from the SCG in 2011 when they were on probation? I'm asking the question!

JSU was but that didn't matter because they weren't any good and that's when the President decided to changed it because the SCG isn't a post-season game and the ncaa told them eir was no need to ban them.

This article is totally ridiculous. Ken might as well just said "Why I want the SWAC to help Grambling out."

Just win the games like you suppose to and you won't have an issue. This is just simple baby whining because Alcorn has won the championship the last two years. No one and I mean none of you had an issue in 2013 when Alcorn was left out after beating both of the SCG participants. It is what it is. Handle what you need to on the field and all of this is a moot point.

But I don't WANT the SWAC to help Grambling out. The situation is what it is. Grambling and Southern both have done nothing but win games. One of them goes home for the season this Saturday. That is a FACT.

I'm really not sure what you Alcorn folks are getting upset about. What did I say that was incorrect?

Fact: Your team is 5-5 on the season.
Fact: If SU wins Saturday, Alcorn automatically goes to the CB.
Fact: If SU were to beat Alcorn in the SCG, SU would be SWAC champions and Alcorn is headed to the CB with a LOSING record.

I understand that 3rd fact isn't an idea situation, but its still true.

So what is the problem?

@ first bold. They are the #1 seed out of the East out of the West.

@ second bold. According to who? Why don't they deserve to go? They are an eligible team that won their division so they won the right to be in Houston with a chance to go to ATL.

When did it become the thing to shade a (eligible) team to do what they were supposed to? Were we saying this in 2012? 2006?
Who cares if they are the number one in the east, they still are the 4th team in the SWAC. How can you be a champ when you only beat up on below .500 teams and loose to everyone else. What have they done besides lose to good teams and get a second chance because they beat up on lesser competion. And I'm not throwing shade because they are eligible because Everyone is in the SWAC. I just hate you have 3 better teams and the 4th gets in because of lesser competion and not showing that they are a championship team.

Do you ask these questions when you watch the final four, nba playoffs or nfl wildcard game? Or do you just root for your team get drunk and be happy they won?

It just seems like Grambling should receive some type of clemency. Watching Alcorn in the Celebration Bowl will be worse than that five years mandatory drug bill that Clinton signed years ago.

Naw, it is what it is. And I sure as hell wouldn't want the SWAC to make any exceptions for Grambling, or anyone else for the matter. If Alcorn wins, more power to them.

first off the final 4 has good deserving teams who have did good even if they are from lesser competion they still usually have a good record. And as far as the nba it has been thrown around for the best 16 teams because of how weak the east is and how some teams get in because of a week conference that really don't deserve to be there and the West having more deserving teams. NFL wildcard if different because the level of competion is way better and it is needed so maybe you should think of what you say.

Just think Murphy's Law. Grambling won't win the BC and Alcorn will go to the CB by default.

Also, Alcorn could help Southern by beating NCCU in the CB. If Alcorn wins the CB, Southern should be the Black College National Football Champions.

Assuming that happens, you'd also have to consider what A&T does in the playoffs.

If they get by Richmond, which I doubt. Also, NCCU beat them pretty bad. IMO, Alcorn has a better chance of beating NCCU than NCA&T beating Richmond.

Ranked

Ranked number 21 with a 9-2 overall record but we were no good. .o ok lol

I don't see gram losing a game so...

Who really cares? The point was you didn't win the division the year that you were banned that's certain

Because at they end if the day the answer is no you don't think that way you just sit their and watch your team and shut your mouth. The nfl has had on a couple of occasion where a team was below .500 vying for the super bowl so give me a break on the better competition excuse.

Just tell me how are you going to measure that vs college? Smh

So if gram was to some how beat SU in the BC and turn around and loose to Alcorn in the championship what would be the thinking then? Everyone is talking as if it's a forgone conclusion that Alcorn would lose in the championship at the end of the day beside the gram and Arkansas game our other three loses were by a combined 16pts. So let's be clear no one knows who'll win all we know is who we want to win!!!!!!
