Why Not Us?

1st off Lets be Real, those money games arent saving 12 other Programs. Save that excuse, please.. Plus most of the other programs Cost lil to nothing to run and Considering that $500 will feed some teams (Volleyball, Softball, Soccer) for a weekend, then if we as Alumni get off our azz, we can Cover that every now and then. We running around acting Like we dont get title 9 money, state money, Football Money, NCAA money, some sponser Money and Conference money.. So if the money is managed correctly, we want need so many Money Games.
2nd going into the tournament means and winning also brings in a Paycheck, so Getting a Good Seed and winning will equal all those Money games...

Bruh, we need money. Ask Broadway if he has money laying around for simple things like extra mouthpieces. Why you think Grambling take so many money games in football? Grambling needs the money. The ONLY tangible money we get is from football, a little sponsorship, student fees, bball money games, and the conference year-end payout. If Alcorn got 400K for money games, that was about 20% of their reported athletic budget.

I guess yall didn't load up on as many money games as some SWAC schools. But the difference is Morgan State was able to win some games against mid majors and beat a major. Jsu didn't win any.

Morgan State didn't have to go through what JSU (or even Alabama State) did in the beginning of the season. Big difference. They were predicted to win the conference, had no injuries and they won while getting a few unimpressive wins along the way. Just like GaTech...we had a pretty good team but when you throw together 4 guys in a starting line-up for the first time, they are at the disadvantage to playing guys who have been together for 3 years. If we were not losing the players from this year, we would be a top 10 team next year now that Hewitt knows how to properly use that group.

Again, for this year, Jsu would've had to beat Ms State, then beat UNC. I won't ask you if you would bet anything on the odds of that happening.

wow, because you got a home game 17 years ago, you just might get another now, huh? :scared:
Again, if that is what you're hanging your hat on, then.........

The odds of that happening is plausible. JSU wasn't a great team this year...we knew that. Though many will disagree, we got by with coaching. But we could beat MS State. They were not that much better than us. However, upsets happen in bball. If we had Maxey or a Tre Johnson out there with Garrison...who knows!? ...and if there was a time to beat UNC, this was it. But no, this year's team had no chance with them. But saying that, with teams like UNC in a tournament, if a SWAC teams wins it, it's something to hang our hat on...

As for what happened 17 years ago, yes our getting a home game was luck. I think we were like a 6 seed and we beat UConn and the SEMO was a 7 seed that beat a 2... but it did happen. Had we won, we probably would have have had to go on the road but somewhere along that NIT trail, a home game is possible. :lecture: We actually got out-coached in that game. First we had a LONG trip back from UConn but they were afraid our shooters and played Spivery ball... JSU didn't know how to counter that becasue we beat UConn by running the floor. (Yep, it was just like yesterday...lol...and back then JSU was on ESPN for having the longest winning streak in the nation. :lecture: )

If you beat 12 teams with a low RPI, it is not going to help your RPI much at all. Of course, it will help but it won't raise your RPI as much as losing to the high RPI teams. SOS is a big deal in these calculations.

:lecture: TP answer me one question:

If losing to high RPI schools is better than beating low RPI schools, why does the SWAC have the lowest RPI of any conference in the nation?

You lose those games and too many teams play NAIA, D2 & D3 teams. Nobody is going to take you seriously if you play Paul Quinn and Jarvis Christian College every year.

You want to get a higher rating? Do like Rutgers dont' play non D1 teams.
Rutgers played 10 teams that went to the tourney, 6 NIT teams & 1 CBI. They lucked out with 11 wins.
