Totten's contract expires in Dec.,2009. Hopefully this is it for him. Also, the new prez has already stated that a winning athletic program is a must and not an option. Thanks for your unwanted concerns. Have a lousy day.

If they are paying him $45k, they are paying him too much money for his coaching skills. How much are they paying that man? $45k/year?

He will go 6-5 and get a new 4 year deal..............
Valley needs to be D2 and that is not a put down on them but you need to be where you can be most effective. Valley could still play JSU and Alcorn if they wanted. Heck JSU could open up the season with them every year in Jackson for Labor Day. Of course, we would miss them in bball and baseball but they are not dynasties there either. Put them up against Fort Valley, Albany State, Miles and Tuskegee. With the relaxed recruiting rules, they could get a lot of talent in MS. If they are only giving out 42 schollies anyway, they are barely above the D2 max. This would put the SWAC back to a 9-team league (unless we send UAPB with em) but that would not be so bad.
Then it would boil down to Valley and Skegee every year duking it out for the Title!
Valley could actually BENEFIT from a move to D2. They would just need to figure out how to play JSU and Alcorn... no other SWAC schools want to play them anyway. But having a chance to play from Mississippi to Georgia would be great for them. Morehouse, Clark, Miles, etc.. is not a bad schedule for them.
I disagree, PV is right on Houstons doorstep, so a vast pool of local talent was right there to get. PV was just trifling and didn't care. Valley got real issues way beyond their coach. That's the same thing some would have said about P.V. 3 years ago.
Where does the excuse line end?
Stop accepting excuses for failure.
How many members of this board think they would still have thier jobs after years and years of ineptness?
If the swac was to get some business acumen some people would be in trouble.
