Why don

:slap: Team, can we have one Question @ a time. It's all good bruh! Good question though. I plan on staying with my wife. We're not having any problems that would even make me want to leave.

Why are you married?
Are you married?
Can you say you're completely, truly, irretrievably happy?
If you can't, why are you still there?

I'm not even from this planet :)

  1. My wife and I made covenant with God: till death us do part.
  2. God cannot die, so He cannot break His covenant, and death is the only thing that relieves either of us.
  3. Kathy is my suitable helper...shapen and constantly being shapen just for me...and me for her.
  4. We had great counseling BEFORE we got married.
  5. We learned to partner with other couples for accountability purposes.
  6. We learned how to TALK to each other and reason things through.
  7. Prov 10:12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
  8. Prov 15:1-5 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

I hear you, Phil.....

But I'll say this. It's EASY to read that list...
And Erica and I started off with good intentions. We had the conuseling prior to getting married. And we talked and communictaed with each other. And it wasn't enough.... I loved her and she loved me. And it wasn't enough... I prayed about it. And I know she prayed about it... And God sent me a good friend who helped learn what things to pray for. And I learned. And I asked God for understanding. I asked God for peace. And I asked God to remove the scales from my eyes so I could see the things I was doing (or not doing). I did all of that. I prayed and I worked. And I worked and I prayed.... And God granted me wisdom. And undertanding. And strength. And with those things I found peace.....

And with that peace, we decided to divorce. And we're better (today) because of it.... I'm a better father because of it. I'm a better friend because of it. I'm a better person because of it... Getting a divorce was GOOD for us. I'm not bitter. She's not bitter. In fact, we're becoming better friends (now) than we were before we got married...

So to anybody who wants to quote scripture in order to validate their point about marriage being ordained by God, I say this: GOD ordains alot of things. His work didn't stop after the Bible was written. His work continues....

And I'm proof of that.

I?ll make this quick;

1st Off Most People believe to you are suppose to be married.
This line of thinking is not only Non Biblical, but also a very ambitions,
Misconstrued, & sheep way of thinking.

Most people get married because they feel it?s the ?normal? thing to do.

WRONG AGAIN!

It is something extra special to get married.

& If you don?t believe that well then..you know?.

I agree man !!!

It's my belief that most people go to counseling before the wedding as a formality and pretty much have their minds made up as to that's what they're going to do anyway and the pastor will only marry them if they go through it. The counseling session(s) then becomes a "what to do in this/that situation" or "think about this/that before you do this/that". Couples should wait to hear God say (1) Yes (2) No or (3) Not now .

No divorce is good.

According to an associate of mine, why give up a good thing? He keeps his wife who cooks, cleans, is fine as ellh and gives him sex any way and every way he wants it,, even though she was told by another female that they *ucked at a hotel where and when, what he was wearing, what kind of car he was driving, everything. She was waiting for him when he came home. She blasted him to kingdom come and could have gotten a divorce,,,, but she didn't. What me and my associated surmized is that she did some quick math, looked around at the other prospects out there (he's a professional. 80% of the men in her environment are not at his financial level and don't have good steady jobs and are running females more openly than him) and thought about being single/alone with a son who was a young teen at the time. He denied, denied, denied,, said the other woman was just jealous of what she got, was trying to break them up and gave her an opening to say, "well,,, ok,, but if this ever happens again,,,!!". He says he would lie and do whatever he has to do to keep her even if she caught him in bed with another woman. He has no plans on a divorce even though he has a "go-to reciever" lover (who is also married) on the side that is obvious to everyone. Neither will divorce their main situation, but yet they want any and everything else that's out there who's willing. He makes no bones about it. He doesn't hide his ring or none of that. Many times of coarse the female ego won't allow him to be "the mack" and the females he hit on at work take great pleasure in rejecting him, calling him a dog and all that,, but sometimes there's always a female out there who will bite for myriad reasons even when she knows he is married. some make "assumptions" and then run the "you lied to me" non-sense and get mad with him,, others know straight-up what they are getting into and actually are looking for the same thing,, something they are not getting in their main relationship but don't want to give up that relationship,, especially if there is not a perverbial "golden parachute" and more fullfilling relationship guaranteed. It's amazing, but it helps me better understand why blues music is so popular in the black culture.
