Who are the HBCU football coaches on the hot seat?

That's a whoooooooooole lot of ifs. Bascially you're saying if Southern loses 4 conference games, plus UL-Monroe and Tulane, to go 5-6 on the season. If Southern finishes 2016 with a losing record ... then yes, Worm would be on the hot seat. However, that's highly unlikely.

The only thing that did not happen last year was losing to Jackson State.

See, thats the thing.. so do we. Plus the incoming transfers and the ones that didn't suit up to play last year.

Keep in mind... we only lost by 1 point to PV last year. And that was with half the starters left home for academic issues.
How much did yall lose to SU by?

All jokes/smack aside, all JSU needs to contend for the East is a solid run game to help Ivy & the WRs. The defense is there. Javancy Jones will probably have 10+ sacks.
Well, the run game is supposed to be a priority this year. I think Timmy Chang was the main problem last year. But since OMJ hired him (Chang was his first choice, btw) he had to go, too. Can't wait to see what Chad Germany can do with this unit.

Did the DC change too? Yall are better off in a 4-3 or 4-2-5

I still say let Odums lose the Bayou Classic, PV, Alcorn, and JSU. He will be gone the Monday after the Bayou Classic. Also how many coaching changes did Odums make after last season....that's why I say he is on the hot seat.

So he's on the hot seat, but you're basically saying a worst-case scenario would be needed for him to get fired. That's not really hot seat material to me.

So you are saying that if he loses ONE additional game he is out? Nah

SO no regular starters played?

Very few. No impact starters played. Starting QB was out, 3 starting OL were out, Lanier and Brower were out as well. Lot of the guys on the field weren't even on scholarship

We basically played SU & Alcorn on one leg.

that's why I'm glad both of these games are much earlier in the season this year

Now, do I think we would have beat SU last year if we were healthy? I doubt it. We had issues, mainly certification problems that kept a lot of starters & depth out... but I also doubt it would have been a beatdown.

How so? We issued out a beatdown to everyone not named Grambling, Alcorn, and PV last year.

That's 1 game. Performance in 1 game doesn't mean it was going to carry over to the rest of the season.

It doesn't, but when a team performs in September then complete fall off the rails by November, thats usually not the same team that showed up early in the season.

PV magically had 2-3 new Db's get eligible the week they played SU. They were better defensively after that.

Much better! But I didn't want to get into it with him since he's trying to use the PV/AAMU game to gauge his team. Those 49 points were the most they scored against ANYONE last year.

And those DBs didn't magically appear or get eligible... They were already eligible. One got hurt in the sTu game and the other was held out for disciplinary reasons by Coach Simmons. He missed the first four games.
