Who are the HBCU football coaches on the hot seat?

Real talk. Provide the 6 teams that A&M should be favored to beat in 2016. I'm not sure I can see it happening.

Who said he can? You might need to re-read what I've posted...and read it slower so you can comprehend it the 2nd time.

2Kool. I read your post, and I asked you a simple question. It's a question that any true fan would tackle. Take a look at our schedules and identify which games we are "supposed" to win, and then the ones that we have a good shot at. It's not hard. Reading slow or fast doesn't change that. Maybe you have mistaken, I'm not really a sh&T talker. I simply asked a question since you brought up that odds were better for Spady this year than before, and that he needed to win at least 6 games. My question to you again is... "Which 6 games on A&M's schedule do you feel the bulldogs will be favored to win"?

My bad bruh. You know how it gets around here lol.

I dont believe in teams being "favored" to win. Not in the SWAC. Too many moving parts. Now are there no brainers? Sure. Everyone expects Gram to beat Valley. However, the circumstances surrounding our program are more conducive to Spady doubling last years win total than they were at this time last year.

With that being established, the games I believe we have the best chance to win are:

Valley
PB
TxSU
JSU
Bama State
Southern

Note.. I said BEST CHANCE. Not "favored."

Folks have asked why did I put Coach Odums on the list.

Well if he loses another Bayou Classic, another loss to PV, not make the SWAC Championship and God forbid loses to Alcorn or JSU and lord black Jesus both of them....there will be an announcement on the Monday following the Bayou Classic.

All good bro. I know that many one here thrive off of talking crap. I'm just an ASU supporter and overall SWAC fan. I like to just keep it real and try and break down the games. I think I'll go do the same breakdown for ASU. NOTE: I don't think A&M will be able to stay on the field with ASU this year. A&M has to make a real commitment to athletics. Bama State is creating some distance right now. I miss those days when the SWAC East was decided by the Magic City Classic. Let's get back to that.

Take our name out and replace it with AAMU and we pretty much got the same schools. Unlike last year when we started off the season with all SWAC heavyweights playing with freshman in a lot of key sports, this year the school is flipped. AAMU is a toss up game and despite the way TxSU and Griffin did us last year, no one would be surprised if we beat them. Most expect PV to beat us despite being at home and JSU is always a dog fight.

If we finished those first 4 games 2-2 heading into the Alabama State game, I wouldn't complain at all.

662, we @ PVAMU do NOT simply think any game is a given and we understand and accept that any team on our schedule has the potential to beat us.

We lost 3 great RBs and 3 great OL from our squad. We realize those major holes have to be filled and I think our staff did a heckuva' job of finding unparalleled talent to put in those spots. We return 7 starters on defense (I think) and again, I think our coaching staff has done a bang up job of filling holes and providing much required depth/strength/speed. Even w/ those positives, PVAMU respects EVERY single opponent on its schedule. Period. No one game is a gimmie.

Its easy to say that, but the rivalry factor almost always rears its ugly head. We shouldn't have been on the field with ASU in 2014 either.

I do agree with you on the athletic commitment. Our administration is under pressure to do that and they've taken steps toward it.

A chance against my Southern JAGUARS? You must don't remember the score last year.

Every year is different. Last year, we had 2 scholarship OL starting against SU. Half the team was out injured...Bryan Brower, Anthony Lanier and Ballard included. Whole team was basically a triage unit.

This year, SU travels to AAMU the week before the JSU/SU game. Last time SU was in Huntsville, they had to come from behind in 2014 against a squad full of freshman and Jones leftovers, winning by only 1 point. Oddly enough, JSU was SU's next opponent after the AAMU game. Losing to AAMU in 2014 would have been one hell of an upset. Especially considering that was the year SU went to the SCG...

I'm not saying we'll win. Im just saying the chance is there. Like a weather team predicts storms on the atmospheric environment, the chance is there. Lol.

That's a whoooooooooole lot of ifs. Bascially you're saying if Southern loses 4 conference games, plus UL-Monroe and Tulane, to go 5-6 on the season. If Southern finishes 2016 with a losing record ... then yes, Worm would be on the hot seat. However, that's highly unlikely.

I don't see it. I believe Southern overlooked Aamu that's why it's was so close. Plus that year we had missing players as well.

we start off our swac schedule with

Valley
PV - LCC 1st Home gzme
SU -home game
Texas Southern
Alcorn - homecoming

Spady has to win all these games or at least come out 4-1. He can't lose homecoming or classic later in the schedule. With this being his 3rd year it's time to show up so the heat is on up here on "the hill".

I see a likely 2-3 record coming out of those 5 games. I think A&M will beat Valley, and Texas Southern. In fact, he has to beat them to show that the team has at least not digressed. I have PV and Alcorn heavy favorites, and believe that A&M could maybe surprise Southern. So, 2-3 likely, and 3-2 possible. I would bet that by Classic time, ASU would be favored by 14. Hey, It's July, so I can only go on what we know in July.

He will go anywhere from 0-5 to 2-3 with that schedule. No way he wins 4. Ya'll go TO Valley? lol

Im glad you said it.. I can't say stuff like that without being called names. BUT realize that the TWO games you predict them to win are ON THE ROAD! Oh well. ....

Spady can't go 2-3 with those first 5 games and expect to keep his job here. He knows he more than likely has to be 4-0 or 3-1 going into homecoming. He can't lose to both PV and Su up here at home. Those will be big games on the hill since we haven't had home games in Sept in a few years not to mention no night home games.

1) We have a double bye before we play Jackson State(2 weeks off) so it's not like the team is going to be focused on the JSU game that early.

2) Our team was also young in 2014, we had freshmen and sophomores(Howard, Tillery, Quinn, Johnson, Menard, etc.....) playing all over the place. Don't forget that was the season where we also had players getting pulled because of certification questions.

3) We have an experienced team coming back, that will be a clear difference between 2014 and 2016.

See, thats the thing.. so do we. Plus the incoming transfers and the ones that didn't suit up to play last year.

Keep in mind... we only lost by 1 point to PV last year. And that was with half the starters left home for academic issues.

In 2014 SU & AAMU were both teams that had more talented youth playing on the field

It's 2016 and those freshman/sophomores are now veterans on the team. This is part of the reason Spady has to WIN more games this year. These are mainly his recruits now. We only have a few Jones recruits left on the team. Our game on Sept. 24 vs SU will be a matchup that will display that young 2014 recruiting class for both schools.

You shouldn't even be fixing your fingers to discuss AAMU football until your players figure out how to execute and beat ours.......
