Which is the One of the Ten Commandments that teaches that there is only ONE God?

John 8:40 - 42

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: For I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Jesus said unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. (John 20:17)

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, E'li, E'li, la'ma sa-bach'tha-ni? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46)

I will reply to this later. I just got through with the tongues issue. I am going home and I will catch you all later. I have plenty bible proof so I will come back in full affect. Yes, Jesus is GOD. By the way, there are other commandments other than the 10. Everything we must do are not rapped up in the 10. Remember that first of all. Ok. I will be back tommorow.

To answer the question, there are none.

There is a commandment to have no other gods before Him.

so does that commandment mean that someone can have a god with Him?

ok, so is there any OTHER commandment or any OTHER Biblical passage that says we can have more than one God?

right.... right ....

he said MY and YOUR when addressing God

God is all of OUR Father

Jesus didnt say "I am ascending because I am God"

he said that he was ascending to MY FATHER which would not make any sense if Jesus WAS God because then he would be ascending to ... HIMSELF??

I'm not sure where you are going with this, but we make gods out of all kinds of things by the honor, reverence, or priority that we put on them.

Transliterated, the Hebrew reads "You shall not have gods; you have Me".

Jesus forsook himself?

The Gospel according to John, Chapter 1, Verses 1-5 - transliterated:
In [the] beginning was the Word, and the Word was with - God, and God was the Word*. This one was in [the] beginning with God. All things through him became, and without him became not one thing which has become. In him life was, and the life was the light of men; and the light in the darkness shines, and the darkness in not overtook.

Note that in the end of v.1 that the subject has the article and the predicate does not; hence it is translated "the Word was God".

So, in a very literal sense, Jesus DID forsake Himself.
Matthew 26
36Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
...
47And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. 49And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. 50And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him. 51And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest?s, and smote off his ear. 52Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 53Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? 54But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

John 10
17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

1 John 5
7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

In coming to earth as a man, the Son forsook His diety for a season. In being a man, he forsook His diety to show us how to love.

oh yes, the garden...

Jesus did pray in the garden, didn't he?

so, who was Jesus praying to?

if Jesus is God, to whom is he praying if "he" is God and WHY is praying if "he" is God?

a-hmmm...

let me see here...

the son forsook his deity for a season while the father maintained his deity (as did the holy ghost i am sure)...

so it is sort of like dad was holding down the heavenly fort while the son put his godliness on the shelf....

ahmmm....

well, if i didn't know better...

i'd swear that that was...

When God came to earth, He was still in heaven also. God can act simutaneously in heaven and on earth. For that matter, he can be in as many locations as he wishis. He is the ALMIGHTY GOD. He can do that. It's very important that we recognize the magnitude of God's omnipresence and not limit it by our own human understanding or lack there of.

Jesus talked the way he did to people because he was in the Flesh also. The only way a Man can live a perfect life is if God is in him. Only God is perfect. Only God could die for us. The reason we have to go through the son (version) of God is because it was the earthly man who died. Wich brings us to the question, Who is the 4th man in the fire? You see, God being born is the reason for the phrase"Son of GOd." If I was able to give birth to myself and still be myself at the same time then who is my father? I would be my own father and it would have been my choice to send my self. Sounds confusing? It's suppose to because His ways are not our ways and thoughts are not our thoughts. THE FOURTH MAN IN THE FIRE

One supposed theophany is the fourth man who appeared inthe fire when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendnego were cast into the furnace(Daniel3:24-25). The heathen king Nebuchadnezzar said,"lo, I see four men loose...and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God"(Daniel3:25). However, in the original language(aramaic) there is no definite article before Son; that is, there is no (the) before the word Son in this verse. The NIV and TAB reads this phrase as"a son of the gods." The king was using heathen terminology and had no knowledge of the future arrival of the only begotten Son of God so it would have been impossible
for hime to have made that statement. This is one of the few misstranslations of the King James version of the Bible. Most likely the king saw an angel, for he described this manifestation as an angel(Daniel3:28). It appears that the phrase"sons of God" can refer to angelic beings(Job38:7). At the most, what Nebuchadnezzar saw could only be a temporary theophany of God. Certainly, this was not a view of the Son of God described in the New Testament, because the Son had not been born and the sonship had not Begun yet.

NOW WE MUST UNDERSTAND NAMES AND TITLES OF GOD

God used names as a means of progressive self revelation. For example, in Exodus6:3 God said,"And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of GOD ALMIGHTY, but my name JEHOVAH was I not know unto them." Just like Matthew28 when Jesus said Baptise in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. The name is Jesus...(Acts2:38-to the end of the bible) Verses 4 through 8 makes it clear that the significance to Israel of the name Jehovah was its association with redemption and salvation. We know that Abraham did use the name Jehovah(Genesis22:14); however, God did not make known to him the full significance of this name in its redemptive aspect. So, in Exodus6:3 God promised to reveal Himself to His people in a new way. That is, He began to associate His name with a new understanding of his character and presence.

Yahwe(Jehova) is the repdemptive name of God in the old testament(Exodus6:3-8), and the unique name by which the 1 true God distinguished himself in the Old Testament from all other gods(Isaiah42:8). It means the "Sekf Existing one or the Eternal one." This concept also appers in the phrases"I AM THAT I AM" and "I AM," used by God of Himself. Flanders and Cresson explain that Yahweh is the third person form of the verb "to be" in Hebrew. Yahweh means "He is." When used by God, the verb form is in the first person, or "I AM." In other words, Yahweh and "I AM" are different forms of the SAME verb. Futhermore, both connote an active (possibly causative or creative) existance rather than just a passive existance.

THE NAME JESUS

When the fulness of time came, God did satisfy the longings of his people and revealed Himself in all His power and glory through the name Jesus. Jesus is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew name variously rendered as Jehoshua(numbers13:16), Jeshua(Ezra2:2), or Joshua(Exodus17:9). Both Acts7:45 and Hebrews4:8 show that Jesus is the same name as Joshua. (See also NIV).

Jesus means Jehovah-savior, Jehovah our Salvation, or Jehovah is Salvation. This is why the angel said, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins"(Matthew1:21) The identification of the name Jesus with salvation is particularly evident because the Hebrew for Jeshua is practically identical to the Hebrew for salvation, especially since ancient Hebrew did not use written vowels. In fact, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance transliterates Jeshua as Yeshuwa and the Hebrew word for salvation as Yeshuwah. Although others have borne the name Jehoshua, Joshua, or Jesus, the Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who actually lived up to that name. He is the only one who is actually what that name describes.

The New Testament church is identified by the name of Jesus. In fact Jesus said we would be hated among all men for His name's sake(Matthew10:22). The early Church was persecuted for the name of Jesus(Acts5:28;9:21;15:26), and they considered it a privilege to be counted worthy to suffer for His name(Acts5:41). Peter stated that the lame man at the gate Beautiful was healed"by the name of Jesus(Acts4:10). He then explained the supremacy and necessity of this name in receiving salvation:
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men where by we must be saved" (Acts4:12) The Apostle Paul wrote, "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of the earth in earth and under earth"(Philippians2:9-10).

Jesus said that he is the way, The Truth. No one comes to the father But through him. (meaning that through him are all things accomplished.) Therefore, anything not done in his name isn't done at all. (Including Baptism)
Because of the exalted position of this name, we are exorted to rely upon the name of Jesus in all we do or say:"whatso ever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus"(Colossians3:17). We teach and preach in the name of Jesus(Acts4:17-18; 5:28). We cast out devels and speak in tounges and heal the sick all in the name of Jesus(Mark16:17-18-James5:14). Signs and wonders are done by the name of Jesus(Acts4:30). We pray and make requests known to God in the name of Jesus(John14:13-14; 16:23). We gather together in the name of Jesus(Matthew18:20). We baptise in the name of Jesus(Acts2:38)

Through the name Jesus, therefore, God reveals Himself Fully. To the extent that we see, know, honor, believe, and recieve Jesus, to that extent we see, know, honor, believe, and receive God the Father(John5:23; 8:19; 12:44-45; 13:20; 14:7-9). If we deny Jesus, we deny the Father(1John2:23), but if we use the name of jesus we glorify the father(colossians3:17).

The Bible foretold that the Messiah would declare the name of the Lord(Psalm22:22; see Hebrews2:12). Jesus asserted that He had manifested and declared the name of the Father(John17:6 and 26). In fact, He inherited his name from the Father(Hebrews1:4). How did Jesus manifest and declare the Father's name? He did so by unveiling the meaning of the name through the works that he did, which were the works of Jehovah(John14:10-11). Just as God in the Old Testament progressively revealed more about His nature and his name by responding to the needs of his people, so Jesus in the New Testament fully revealed the nature and name of God through miracles, healings, casting out of devils, and forgiveness of sins. Jesus declared the Father's name by His works; for by them He proved that He was indeed the Father, the Jehovah of the Old Testament. (See Isaiah35:4-6 with Luke7:19-22) By demonstrating the power of God in accordance with the prophecies, he proved that Jesus was the name of the Father.

Why is the name of Jesus the full revelation of God? Simply because Jesus is Jehovah and in Jesus dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, including the role of the Father(Colossians2:9).

JESUS IS GOD part 2

The fact that Jesus is God is as firmly established in scripture as the fact that God is one. The Bible teaches that Jesus is fully God and fully man. Even the old Testament testifies that Jesus is God. Isaiah9:6 is one of the most powerful proofs that Jesus is God.The terms CHILD and SON refer to the Incarnation or manifestation of "The mighty God" and "The everlasting Father."

Isaiah prophesied that the messiah would be called Immanuel, that is, God with us(Isaiah7:14; Matthew1:22-23).

Isaiah35:4-6 shows that Jesus is God: "Behold, your God...he will come and save you." This passage goes on to say that when God comes the eyes of the blind would be opened, the ears of the deaf would be unstopped, the lame would leap, and the tongue of the dumb would speak. Jesus applied this passage of Scripture to Himself(Luke7:22) and, of course, His ministry did produce all of these things.

Isaiah40:3 declares that one would cry in the wilderness,"Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our GOD." John the Baptist fulfilled this prophecy when he prepared the way for Jesus(Matthew3:3) si Jesus must be THE LORD...(Jehovah our God) Remember the bible teaches that there is 1 Lord, 1 Faith and 1 Baptism.

Micah5:2 proves that the messiah is God. "But thou, Bethelehem Ephratah...out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."
The Old Testament clearly states that the Messiah and Savior to come would be God himself. Jesus is not just a part of God, but all of God is resident in Him. If there were several persons in the Godhead, according to Colossians2:9 they would all be resident in the bodily form of Jesus. We are complete in Him(Colossians2:10)

The statement that Jesus is God necessarily implies that God took on human flesh. This is in fact what the Bible says.

(1) "God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of the angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, recieved up into glory"(1Timothy3:16) See also verse 15 for futher confirmation that God is the subject of verse 16.
God is a Spirit--without flesh and blood and invisible to man. In order to make himself visible to man and in order to shed innocent blood for out sins, He had to put on Flesh. He is God veiled in flesh (Hebrews10:20). As Abraham prophesied, probably without understanding the full meaning of his own words, "God will provide himself a lamb"(Genesis22:8) God indeed provided a body for Himself: "Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me" (Hebrews10:5)
God came to his own creation and his own people but they did not recognize Him or recieve Him(John1:10-11).

It is true that we cannot comprehend fully how the miraculous conception- the union of God and man too place in the womb of Mary, be we can accept it by faith. In fact, if we do not believe that Jesus is come in the flesh we have an antichrist spirit(2John7), but if we do accept this doctrine of Christ we will have both Father and the Son(2John9). Both Father and Son are revealed in Christ(John10:30; 14:6-11). (John8:19-24)

This is more than adequate to prove that Jesus is Jehovah. There is only one Jehovah (Deuteronomy6:4), so this means Jesus is the one God of the Old and New testaments.

This is enough for today....If you need more proof...I will deliver..But it will be another day....Have a nice day....God bless and Good night.

I do. I am helping as many people as possible come into the truth and as I continue my studies of history, Bible and the pure facts, I am making a book for myself and I intend to duplicate it and give it to all churches. Well, as many as I can. Why is my pic not showing up any more? That just pissed me mad. I just noticed that.

Let's study without blinders and not forget that the books are oral traditions with translations and deliberate omissions and additions by those who are/were in positions of power.

In other words, Yahweh and "I AM" are different forms of the SAME verb.

Jehovah-shammah (ever present God) See Matthew28:20

This is more than adequate to prove that Jesus is Jehovah. There is only one Jehovah (Deuteronomy6:4), so this means Jesus is the one God of the Old and New testaments.

This is enough for today....If you need more proof...I will deliver..But it will be another day....Have a nice day....God bless and Good night.

"Thou shalt have no other gods beforeThou shalt not make unto thee anygraven image or any likeness of any thing
that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the chil-
dren unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and
keep my commandments." EX. 34

There has always been a mis-conception that there are on "Ten Commandments." The ten we focus on is "melting pot" of all of God's laws / commandments. "Thou shal not" is a double negative, particle of negation = you better, better, better, better not have no other gods.....

There are hundreds of "Commandments" that prohibit an individual to worship more than "God" Jehovah.
