The SWAC has lost 2 successful coaches to a league that should be on par with us. Not sure if this is good, no matter what the reasons are.

Maybe Doug might consider coming back to Gram to coach his son.

Meanwhile "Too Short" probably saying "Broadway got me down here ... should I stay or go?"
 
Doug Williams is interested in the Grambling job. This is taken from a chat he is having today on ESPN.COM about the Superbowl.

With the Grambling job just now opening up and your son headed there, is there a possible return to you alma mater?

I hope Doug comes back. This might get ugly if he doesn't. I don't think Broadway was ever a good fit for Grambling.

As for the extension, it's kinda sad if you could not extend him if you wanted to. But I think this mainly had to do with wanting to be on the EAST coast.

He was probably gonna have to win the SWAC this year. But the Grambling people seem to think it was not that he could not get the extension but the accompanying money if I reading into what they are saying.

Get the board Approval, which we basicly couldnt get. Look at it like This, Broadway get paid 100% through the State, he hit the biggest 3 bonuses in his contract every year; He also has played a FBS school every year, which is a bonus. All this money was on the State who is trying to cut back on higher education. The State really wants him gone or to restructure the Contract, This job was offers to Broadway before the Classic but Broadway was using it to get a extension with out restructioning, he aint been interviewing, just giving grambling time. Well Broadway, Grambling are the losers and the State and A&T are the winners. He not going to get more money at A&T but he does know he will have a job in 2012. we should have extended his contract in october.

TP IT S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY BRUH. WE tried but came no where close to what he is getting ready to be paid.... A&T went to him/ her and that person said I willvdonate this much towards his salary.... I know the amount but won't reveal it... just wait and hear what they are getting ready to pay him...... Gram was in negotations with him but after a couple of times at the table they won in the end..

Let's be honest, Gram is the mack of BCF. Even in their down year they still get in your azz. You have to win championships at a school who produces champions. I mean the truth is the truth. Name one coach that has a losing record at GSU? You will never name one.

There is no divide on that P. We all think Pete was loyal to SU and did a masterful job. The only divide was with folks saying it was time to change and those who said it was not time to change. But I think no SU Jag can deny Pete was loyal to us. But sometimes as you see even in the professional leagues. You can be somewhere to long and can get complacent. The key is when to know when it is time to retire or either move on. Pete is from the old school where coaches stayed around for as long as they could. These coaches like Frazier and such are younger and are still hungry for different opportunities that life presents them. Broadway is kind of in between. He aint that young, but he aint Pete's age either. So he may still look at it as he has enough years left for a different move which I guess turns out to be NC A&T.

I am sure even Heish at PV don't see himself being there for the rest of his days. And even if ole Stump starts winning at SU, I doubt he would be there for the long haul either. Times are different and with the money that is being thrown around these days........our coaches probably will not have much loyalty unless it is their alma mater.

He asked for 265k at A&T. No he didnt get it but He's getting something he's happy with, plus He's home. These next 2 yrs are going to be tuff. He has 44 scholarships over the next 2 yrs. Well actually 51. he can sign 7. But He knows the terrain. He coached at NCCU and made them a good program. Of course FCS is different, but He will get the time to rebuild.

At 6:16 pm let me also add this statement: Until he puts on the hat and shirt of another program on a podium it still speculation.
