Yep. Hurt before the season and sat out the year

Was the leading scorer for 2021-2022 but honestly after seeing Mahoney hit the portal, I'm not surprised. She really gets a clean slate for 2023 with 7-8 open spots

Side note: This was not a Hakim hire so don't be shocked if she has a short 1-2 year leash if there isn't significant improvement

And sadly I think he will end up like most of the double digit scorers who transferred out from Valley the past 5-6 years:

Out of basketball, D2 or on someone's bench.

Honestly not shocked after Ivory went with Johnson (former walk on) as a starter for a couple of games. He wasn't right since

The one thing we know Ivory can find is scorers. We now have 5-6 open slots (maybe 1-2 to come)
 
Ive RARELY seen a swac player hit the portal and become production. We had a 16 ppg player transfer out last year and he averaged 5ppg this past season. Dariuana Lewis on the girls side is rare example of having a great season. She almost averaged a double double at Syracuse.

I remember the guy from Howard I believe that averaged 24 PPG his junior season and transferred out to Tennessee only to average 5 PPG his senior season and be a role player

As you said, it rarely works out. The only time I remember a player from Valley transferring out and being productive was Payne's first year in which a player transferred out to A&T and came back to burn us in Clarksdale (back when Valley would play a home game in Greenville or Clarksdale once a year)
